"Y/N, wait!" Kaeya called after you as he exited the tavern. Your felt the flames that still surrounded your body grow in rage.
"Leave me alone, Kaeya," you snapped, not even turning around to look at him.
"Y/N, I just—" he started, but hearing his voice again made you even angrier.
"What do you want from me?!" you shouted, whipping around to look at him, "What more can you take?!" Kaeya's face was flat and unreadable, which made you more enraged. The least he could do was feel bad for ruining the biggest moment of your life. For a second time.
"Listen, I get it," he said casually. His laissez-faire attitude got on every last nerve in your body. You wiped tears from your eyes in anger.
"Oh, do you?" you asked sarcastically, "Do you really? That makes me feel so much fucking better." Kaeya's flat expression broke into one of annoyance.
"Look, I just wanted to talk to you," he told you, his irritation seeping through his words.
"Fuck off," you snapped, stepping closer to him, "You're the last person I want to talk to right now." You thought he would at least flinch at the flames dancing off your body, but he just continued to glare down at you.
"Stop telling me to fuck off," he seethed, his hands starting to squeeze into fists. You resisted the urge to hit him, then turned and took a step.
"Wait!" he interrupted desperately, causing you to stop.
"Kaeya," you replied harshly, "as much as I hate you, I'm really not trying to have a murder charge on my record for burning you to death. So when I say 'fuck off,' I mean it. Fuck off."
"Stop," he commanded, stepping closer to you, "You think I'm afraid of a little fire?"
"No, you stop!" you yelled, "Leave me alone or I'll let these flames just kill you!" He scoffed.
"You won't hurt me," he stated in a low voice, sounding absolutely sure.
"Want to test that?" you hissed, feeling the flames grow warmer. He didn't move a muscle. All he did was stare down at you with a condescending look in his eye. You scoffed and turned to leave.
Then, instantly your flames went away, as if they had been sucked back into your body. You were in shock. You didn't move an inch. You couldn't. Kaeya's hand gripped around your wrist, sending that ever-familiar wave of lava through your body. Despite the fire's disappearance, you still felt hot rage burning inside you. Your heart beat so hard you could hear it as you gave in to the absolute fury. You ripped your arm away and turned to face him again.
"What the fuck is your problem?!" you screamed in his face.
"My problem?" he shot back, finally giving in to his anger, "I just wanted to talk and you threatened to burn me alive!" You grunted in frustration.
"I may not be on fire anymore, but I can still make that happen," you spat, "I told you to leave me alone!" He laughed confidently.
"Like I said, you're not gonna hurt me," he remarked, smirking that same shit-eating grin you hated so much.
"Wanna fucking bet?" you snapped, shoving him, "I don't need a vision to kick your ass!" He stumbled back in surprise, then quickly re-fixated his anger upon you.
"Don't fucking push me," he hissed, grabbing your arm and yanking it towards him.
"Fuck you," you spat, then pulled your arm away and pushed him again. He gritted his teeth and got back in your face instantly.
