*Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault*
"And then I told him, 'Well you may not have enough Vayuda Turquoise fragments to make a chunk, but you definitely have enough slivers to make fragments to make chunks,' you know?" Timaeus laughed loudly. You fake-chuckled out of pity and took another long drink of your cocktail. You were grateful for alcohol and for Prince, who was curled up in your lap sleeping. They both were making this awful date less painful.
Even though you had shown up late to the Cat's Tail, Timaeus arrived twenty minutes after you did. He then proceeded to make you pay for your own drinks even though he was the one who had invited you out and spent the whole time talking about alchemy. To say you were bored was an understatement. You were in agony. If you heard one more story about the alchemy shop, you were going to lose it. And to top it all off, he either would not or could not stop staring at your boobs. You didn't know which option made you more angry.
"I've definitely been there," you commented weakly, attempting not to seem like a total bitch. Timaeus chuckled and sipped his mostly empty drink out of his straw, making an ear-stabbing popping sound, which made your eye twitch in annoyance. You quickly gulped down the rest of your drink.
"Why don't I get us another round?" you asked, trying to smile through your irritation. Before Timaeus could even respond, you gently nudged Prince, causing him to hop off your lap and onto the ground, then you snatched your glass and Timaeus' and walked towards the bar. You set the glasses on the bar and leaned your head in your hand in stress.
"How's the date going?" Diona asked playfully as she removed your empty drinks from in front of you and began making you fresh ones.
"It's um..." you paused and glanced over at Timaeus, who was reaching for a cat who clearly did not want to be petted, "good." Diona stopped mid-cocktail shake and looked at you.
"'Good?'" she squeaked, "That's all you have to say? I thought you had a huge crush on him! Isn't this supposed to be the best day of your life or something?" You sighed deeply and turned your body more away from Timaeus so he couldn't see your facial expression.
"Honestly, Diona, it's... it's awful," you stated frankly, causing her jaw to drop.
"You were head over heels, what happened?" she asked.
"He's boring. He's not funny. All he talks about is alchemy. And he keeps..." you stopped and blushed, leaning in closer to whisper to Diona out of embarrassment, "He keeps looking at my tits." Diona gasped loudly in offense for you.
"That scumbag!" she hissed, glancing at them herself, "I mean they do look amazing but he shouldn't be looking so much that it makes you uncomfortable." You both giggled, then sighed.
"I just don't know what happened," you told her, "I liked him so much and then all of the sudden, it's like I feel repulsed by everything he does." Diona nodded knowingly.
"Girl, you have the Ick," she stated. You raised an eyebrow.
"The Ick? What's that?" you asked.
"You know, when a guy you really like does one thing you don't like and it completely turns you off," she explained. Your look of confusion remained.
"But he didn't do anything," you rebutted, "It came out of nowhere." Diona shrugged.
"Maybe you're the one who did something," she suggested, "Maybe you just realized a guy like Timaeus isn't what you want."
You stared at your friend as the night by the fire on Dragonspine ran through your mind again. Then, you both looked back over at Timaeus, who was picking his teeth with his fingernail. Simultaneously, your face and Diona's twisted into looks of utter disgust. When you both turned back to look at each other, you burst into laughter.
