"C-Captain Kaeya," Timaeus stuttered, his demeanor immediately shifting from determined to nervous, "What are you doing here?"

Kaeya held the wrist of the hand that used to be wrapped around your arm tightly. You saw Timaeus wince slightly in pain as Kaeya's grip tightened. Kaeya's face, however, revealed no emotion. He had his classic resting smirk painted on his lips, his muscles seemed relaxed, but you saw fury behind his eye.

"Just passing through," he commented casually, "I took an extra patrol shift. You know how probation is." Timaeus grimaced in pain again as you saw Kaeya's fingers grow ever-tighter on his wrist.

"You know, we never hang out, Timaeus. Why don't you come with me? I was just about to head outside the walls," Kaeya continued, then put his arm around Timaeus' shoulders and pulled him towards the gate before he could even respond.

There was an ongoing problem in the Knights about incidents that happened outside the walls. Technically, you still had jurisdiction, but it was harder to keep Knights honest on reports when there was nobody to witness the actual incident. A while ago, there was a Knight who claimed that his partner had accidentally drowned in Cider Lake during a patrol outside the walls, but it later came out that they had gotten ahold of some drug from Fontaine and decided to try it while patrolling one night. They had a bad trip, got into a fight, and one thing lead to another. When he was approached by the Knights, he denied everything. The Knights were unable to prosecute because the only evidence they had were rumors. The official report said it was an accident. There was no way to prove what happened outside the walls. Once the threshold of the gate was crossed, anything could happen.

"Shit," you cursed and followed them.

Kaeya basically dragged Timaeus out of the city and turned right to go around the corner of the walls surrounding it. His fury was building by the millisecond, but you never would have guessed. He remained calm, cool, and collected. Timaeus genuinely scared I'm dead on the other hand, whimpered and cried like a baby as Kaeya dragged him away. He knew he had been caught. He was fully aware what he had done was wrong.

Kaeya pushed Timaeus in front of him as you finally caught up to them.

"You know, we have a saying back in Khaenri'ah..." Kaeya mused, reaching down and pulling a small dagger out of his boot, "'The most fruitful hunter considers not the quality of meat when prey presents itself before him.'" He flipped the knife in the air and caught it perfectly by the handle, chuckling lightly.

"Know what that means?" he asked Timaeus, walking up slowly to face him. Timaeus, who was shaking like a leaf, slowly and uncertainly shook his head, causing Kaeya to smirk and chuckle.

"Most people take it as an encouragement to seize opportunities as they crop up, but I tend to take it a bit more literally..." Kaeya paused to grab Timaeus and slam him against the stone wall of Mondstadt while holding the dagger at his jugular, then growled, "Blood first, questions later."

"N-no! Captain Kaeya, pl-please, I-I wasn't-" Timaeus sputtered.

"This is so interesting," Kaeya chuckled evilly, "I thought you were boring, but you're not! You're actually pretty complex. Using this whole nerdy, white bread persona to lure in girls and make them feel comfortable only to turn around and take advantage of them. Fascinating... I guess evil comes in all shapes and sizes."

"I'm-I'm-I'm not evil," Timaeus tried to say back, then breathed quietly in confusion, "White bread?" Kaeya laughed.

"Oh I think we both know that's not true," he replied in a low voice, clearly hiding fury behind his words. You stared on in disbelief. You didn't know what to do. Should you stop him? Could you stop him? But the biggest question was... Did you want to?
