Glenn was beside his brother bound to a chair with tuck tape, a permanent scowl etched his face. This would be the first of many times the brothers would be held hostage together. "Moon." He whispered quietly, glancing around the room in an attempt to distract himself from the panic.

"What?" The older man answered in the same tone. They didn't want to risk anyone hearing them talk. Anything they say could be used against them. Both of their hearts raced with worry, with fear. Trying to hide it was harder for Glenn than it was for Moon.

"When he comes back, don't say anything. Just be quiet." The younger brother knew how much trouble Moon has gotten into because he speaks freely. He says whatever he wants, that gets him into a lot of bad situations.

"I won't." Moon wouldn't risk Glenn getting hurt because he spoke without thinking. He turned his head to look at Glenn, he could see it. His brother was scared. "Fix your face, right now." Moon usually didn't speak to him that way, it startled Glenn a bit.

The older man didn't care he was being harsh. Any sign of weakness could get them killed, no exaggeration. Glenn looked at Moon, his face hardening. It made Moon's heart break. His brother has never looked at him like that. And he knew it wouldn't be the last time.

Moon nodded, "They don't get to see you scared." He muttered, turning his face forward. Glenn copied him. The room went quiet for a while. Moon figured Merle was trying to get them nervous, antsy.

They weren't sure how long they sat there for, it felt like hours. But it couldn't have been any longer than twenty minutes. The door opened but neither made a move to look at it. They both could see Merle from the corners of their eyes.

He walked forward, gliding the knife he had in place of the hand on the table, stopping in front of Glenn. "You don't even know why you're here, do you?" It was a rhetorical question. Merle hated how solid they seemed, that always ticked him off. No matter what he did, the two brothers weren't afraid of him.

"I didn't mean you no harm... I lowered my gun, but you raised yours. You were an asshole out there, just like you were on that rooftop back there in Atlanta. What y'all did, leaving me up there, people wouldn't do that to an animal."

Merle turned his gaze to Moon, stepping closer to him. "And you, you're the son of a bitch who can't keep his mouth shut... What got nothing to say now? Go on, speak up. I know you want to."

Moon didn't say anything, his face was as passive as could be. "Yeah, thought so." Merle laughed with an undertone of anger he didn't care to hide. "How about my baby brother? You can't tell me he's alive and then hold off on where he is... no? Well, maybe the farmer's daughter will help me out."

Moon kept his mouth shut, Merle looked at him, expecting him to slip up, but he didn't. So the bald man turned to Glenn. "Tell me something, when she's scared and she holding you close, and her trembling skin is close to you."

Merle held his knife up to Glenn's face. He waited for Moon to react but still nothing. "Her soft lips touching you. Here, all over here, and over here... Feels good, doesn't it? I remember you. Yeah. You're the sneaky one, the one with the nerve. You don't scare easy, do you? I like that."

Merle walked behind Glenn, forcing his head back by gripping his hair. "Now... I wanna know where my brother is." Merle put his knife over Glenn's top lip, pushing the knife into the sensitive area. Glenn sealed his lips shut, stopping himself from yelling.

His pained grunts filled the room. Maggie was forced to listen from the other side of the wall, flinching with every groan. Moon couldn't stand the sight or the sound of his brother in pain. His mouth spoke before he could think.
