In the church, Moon sat in the back beside Eric and Aaron. Rick stood in front of everyone telling them about the deal they made with Hilltop. Not everyone was there, some decided not to be a part of it and others were doing their jobs.

Moon couldn't stop looking at his new ring. Rick liked the simple one so they both wore matching gold bands. The other rings were just sitting on Rick's bedside table. They haven't told anyone yet, first thing in the morning Rick had everyone meet in the church.

Whoever saw them didn't say anything, now wasn't really the time. Even though he wanted to, Moon didn't brag. He wanted everyone to know they were married now. Everyone knew they belonged to each other but Moon still wanted to show his husband off. Just like he showed his boyfriend off.

Moon leaned back in the seat, eyes fixed on Rick. "We can work with the Hilltop. Maggie hammered out a deal. We're getting food. Eggs, butter, fresh vegetables. But they're not just giving it away. These Saviors, they almost killed Sasha, Daryl, and Abraham on the road."

He looked around the room, making sure everyone was paying attention. "Sooner or later, they would've found us, just like those Wolves did, just like Jesus did. They would kill someone or some of us. And then they would try to own us. And we would try to stop them. But by then, in that kind of fight, low on food, we could lose."

By now, everyone who wasn't there yesterday had mixed emotions about it. They knew it wouldn't be them who had to do the dirty work. It was easier for them, they didn't have to bear the burden of murder. That would be Rick and his group.

They are Rick's people but they are not his group. The people liked it better that way. Either way, they didn't like the idea of killing. But they didn't like starving even more.

"This is the only way to be sure, as sure as we can get that we win. And we have to win. We do this for the Hilltop, it's how we keep this place. It's how we feed this place. This needs to be a group decision. If anybody objects, here's your chance to say your peace."

Nobody said anything. But Morgan stood up, making everyone look at him. "You're sure we can do it? We can beat them?" Morgan thought there could be another way, a peaceful way.

"What this group had done, what we've learned. What we've become, all of us. Yes, I'm sure." Rick didn't understand Morgan's way of thinking but he did try. And he just couldn't see it.

Morgan nodded. "Then all we have to do is just tell them that." As the man said it out loud, even he didn't think it could ever be that easy. "They don't compromise."

"This isn't a compromise. It's a choice you give them. It's a way out, for them and for us." For everyone who wasn't fighting, they liked that idea better. But they trusted Rick, what he said was what they would go along with. They've learned it was easier for everyone if they just followed him.

"We try and talk to the Saviors, we give up our advantage, our safety. No. We have to come for them before they come for us. We can't leave them alive." People were starting to realize this wasn't just about food. This was about taking out a threat.

"Where there's life, there's possibility." Morgan kept calm. "Of them hitting us." Moon's eyes went from the back of Morgan's head to Rick. He didn't have to turn as he was in one of the last rows in the back.

"We're not trapped in this. None of you are trapped in this." The man looked around the room, but no one said anything. "Morgan, they always come back."

Rick didn't hate the fact Morgan was trying to come up with something else. It meant people saw they could too. That they didn't have to follow Rick's every thought. Rick needed loyalty, he wouldn't get that with people who felt forced.
