Moon sat on the hood of an abandoned car, waiting with Glenn and Michonne for the others to get back with Daryl. He stared at his hands, silently picking himself apart.
His skin was now cleaned of blood. That meant he could see the damage clearly. The gashes were open but not bleeding. The previous blood dried up, stopping any more from coming out.
"How long has it been since we've been gone?" Moon asked Glenn who shrugged. "Half a day." Michonne answered for him. "How do you know?" The youngest wondered with a frown, not trusting the stranger his brother let in on a whim.
But he trusted Moon, that in itself was enough for him to be civil even after what just happened. "I was there at the store, that's how I found the prison." She didn't look at them, just leaned back against the car waiting patiently. Glenn sat on the ground with his knees pulled up to his chest.
Moon hummed, turning stiffly. "Did you get the formula? It was on the ground." He only moved enough so he could look at her. She nodded, not saying anymore. "Thank you." He thanked her, though she felt the need to do the same.
"Moon, Glenn." They heard Rick's voice in the woods. "Rick. Maggie. Oh, thank God." Glenn rushed into the woods, straight to Maggie. Michonne helped Moon, helped meaning she slowed her pace to match his. "Now, we got a problem here. I need you to back up." Rick tried to warn but it did nothing.
The three took their weapons out when they saw Merle. "What the hell is he doing here?" Glenn looked between Rick and Merle, his eyebrows furrowed in anger. "Hey, put it down!" "Whoa, woah, whoa!" "Put it down!" "He tried to kill me!" "If it wasn't for him-"
Everyone shouted over each other. "He helped us get out of there." Daryl tried to explain to Glenn, the angriest of them all. "Yeah, right after he beat the shit out of you." Rick had his gun aimed at Michonne. Moon, Maggie, Glenn, and Michonne all kept their weapons trained on Merle.
"Hey, we both took our licks, man." Merle didn't try to defend his actions, why would he? He had his brother back and that's all he wanted. "Jackass." Daryl stayed in front of Merle, ready to take a bullet for him. "Hey, shut up." Merle looked at his brother with annoyance, still speaking to him the same way he did when Daryl was a kid. "Enough!" Rick didn't think he could handle this mentally.
"Get that thing out of my face!" Daryl yelled at Glenn, knowing it wasn't meant for him but still took it personally. Merle laughed at him. "Man looks like you've gone native, brother." Moon's hand twitched, the grip on the gun was so tight it forced his cuts open, once again. The blood slowly trailed down his arm under the jacket sleeve.
He sighed, putting his hand down. His gun wasn't needed, everyone else already had theirs out. He was tired of the blood, way too dramatic for his taste.
He stuffed the gun he was given back in his jeans, putting his hands into the front pockets of the jacket. "No more than you hanging out with that psycho back there." Daryl was now glaring at his brother. "Oh, yeah man. He is a charmer, I got to tell you that. Been putting the wood to your girlfriend Andrea. Big time, baby."
Merle mimicked a moan, looking at Michonne biting his bottom lip. The woman's nostrils flared in disgust. "What? Andrea's in Woodbury?" Glenn lowered his gun, momentarily distracted. "Right next to the Governor." Daryl answered, hoping they were finally calmed down. "Shit, that's gross." Moon broke his silence, gaining Merle's attention.
"Look at you, pretty boy. Surprised you're still standing after our little chat." Merle smirked, Moon showed no reaction but the gun in Glenn's hand was up again, his finger curled around the trigger. He didn't care Daryl was the one in front of the barrel, all Glenn could think was how a bullet would hit Merle... eventually.
