Chapter 31 TOWARDS IRIS LIBRE

The sea is calm for the night perfect conditions to travel in, The moonlight reflects off the water allow some light to illuminate the waters in front of them. The ships bows cut through the water with ease as they sail north to find the Iris Libre base. Azur Lane hasn't heard from Iris Dominion since the separation from Azur Lane. They only received notice later that the faction had split up into two different factions the Iris Libre and the Vichya Dominion. Wolf sits in his cabin doing some adjustments to a gift he is going to give to a certain someone...

He replaces the barrel of the AK that AK 12 used to have before it got damaged in a firefight resorting her to get a new one. Wolf had found it under AK's bed during hide and seek and kept it and lucky he did cause AK's room was destroyed during the Sakura Empire attack. Wolf puts the gun back together and decides to give it a paint job but he realised.

He doesn't know AK's favourite colour. He asks O-H if he knew but unfortunately he himself didn't know but fortunately Riga did tell him that it was purple. With that he gets a paintbrush and applies a purple waterproof paint and puts a line on the gun barrel and the magazine. After a while Wolf had finished the paintjob and puts it on a stand to dry.

Wolf: Ok now I just have to let it dry.

Wolf puts a cover on it to make sure it can't be seen without pulling the cover off, Wolf walks to the workshop rooms door and locks it. Once he checks it's locked he makes his way back to the bridge to be greeted with the night time view. He opens the bridge door and could feel the wind breeze blowing through his hair and face as he walks to the bridges railing to look at the view.

Wolf: No matter how many times I stand here the view is always amazing.

O-H: I can agree with that Wolf.

Wolf: Did you use to sail like this with Riga?

O-H takes a little think and answers thoughtfully.

O-H: Yeah we did... those were like you and AK having a midnight stroll it's something between just the two of you feeling. Riga and me used to sail out to a cliffside and watch the sunset with each other but it was a long time ago.

Wolf: You don't feel lonely right?

O-H: No cause I got you as my partner in crime and I still get to sail with Riga because of AK and when you two are in the same room so it's all good.

Wolf: *laughs* True...

Wolf grabs his binoculars and looks out to the horizon and could see nothing but open water. No land was insight as far as the eye could see. He could hear the planes in the distance scanning the area for any hostiles or obstacles. Having three Aircraft carriers guarding the skies allowed Wolf and the cruiser girls a sigh of relief. Wolf keeps looking at and smiles. He never wanted to miss this at all. For the others they were doing nothing but waiting till land is spotted.

For Davis he goes down to the flight deck elevator to get to the hanger bay. He wanted to check the planes to make sure they are 100% combat ready and begins to perform maintenance checks. He knew that he would lose these planes eventually, he just wanted to make sure it doesn't go down without a fight. However Davis needed his toolbox to complete his checks. He searches high and low until Midway directs him on the other side of the hanger bay lay the tool box open on the ground.

He walks to the other side of the hanger bay ducking and weaving as he goes so he doesn't end up hitting a plane wing or propeller. He reaches the other side after a couple of minutes and picks it up and heads back to the front of the hanger while whistling a tune to liven up the quietness of the hanger. Once at the front he places the toolbox next to one of the planes and begins to repair under the wing. He pulls out a wrench and checks that each bolt is still tight cause he didn't want to have a wind pop off mid flight.
