Chapter 57 Project Tempest

They say in every myth there is fact in them somewhere if one looks hard enough where tales of a brave hero ride into dangerous peril to save a princess against a terrible evil. But for the story they never talk about, the people the hero met along the way, the team members who aided the hero in killing the evil that laid within, They never tell the price the hero had to pay to save someone. 

As the command rooms dim lit lights sit above the war table, the three discuss what happened. It was a lot of story telling to Perri and Anders as Wolf describes everything with every bit of detail that it could have. But as he tells it the audience has a few questions to add onto the story.

Perri: So RPK wanted to extract Riga out of AK 12's body so she could live free and powerful? That sounds a bit dumb.

Anders: Did RPK even fight back?

Wolf: Surprisingly no she didn't all she did was back away and begun to compromise and backpedal on me. But I didn't shoot her cause AK didn't want me to.

Perri: I believe she made the right choice doing that to you. We don't want you becoming a cold blooded killer Wolf.

Wolf: No your right and she's right it's just she made me so bitter.... To run with people that only harm others, it's not right.

He still couldn't understand why RPK would do such a thing, he always remembered her as the inquisitive type, the one who asked philosophical questions that would always leave someone scratching there head. Not someone who was going to turn on their comrades, especially her sisters and try to obtain power like that.

What was also something that still made no sense is how Lady Gray managed to transfer her conscious to a Doll when she was dead. But that question slipped through Wolfs mind as Anders displays the map of the ocean as numerous bases were crossed out. He puts a marker on a bigger base as he takes a deep breath and smiles. While Wolf was away his team had managed to take multiple coastal forts and gave access to one of the mega bases that they lost to the Sirens back then.

Davis went above and beyond and if they manage to capture this base the enemy will have no choice but to prepare for war on their front yard. However Enterprise had gotten worse to the point that she doesn't leave her room at all, she had lost the will to fight at all however Perri could not help but look and point at Amelia since she just like the rest should be dead.

They look at her as she just stands there as they talked, Perri offers her a seat but she refuses the offer since she didn't feel life she had the power to be in a chair like that but after enough peer pressuring she gave in as she plopped down on the chair and placed her head on the head rest. She looked a bit more thinner last time he seen her, She looked tired as she sat there looking at them as they stare at her.

Her stomach rumbles as the three look at her as they decide to go to the cafeteria to have a bite to eat as the rest of the Azur Lane girls and Griffin girls look in awe that the commander and the supreme commander would be eating lunch in the cafeteria with everyone else.  As for Amelia she was digging into her food as Wolf was just munching on a sandwich. The others were just watching but go back to what they were doing as the chatter began to pick up again as Perri discusses some stories to the 3.

It was one of the first times they could see Perri talk on a conversation level than as a commander. It was refreshing as Amelia tells the three how she managed to survive so long behind enemy lines as she was talking with her mouth full. She surely was hungry, as she talked, after the story was finished Perri gave Wolf a new task. One that was unexpected and a bit gut wrenching.
