Chapter 14 STATUS REPORT AND TEAMPLAY

POV AK 12

Vector: Well Matthews has been trying his best to piece together a new Sector V but has been struggling. He doesn't even know how Wolf managed to hold things all together in his unit.

AN 94: To add on Griffin has not been doing any better either, morale is low since victories are starting to become a thing of the past but there is hope though.

AK 12: That is AN?

AN 94: With two of your coastal forts taken back we can almost do a naval invasion on one of the town areas, doing so will be able to free some people and soldiers and allow us to have a landing point to place forces on.

It looked like Ohio's theory of boosting morale has been working so far, To AN though she could see in Ohio that he has the same fighting spirit as Wolf taking things back one by one all by himself. The victories are mounting up and others could not help but look at what Ohio has been doing. It made AK glad that Ohio's work was being recognised for the greater good but as she looks to Vector she was holding her cup tightly.

A sigh comes out of her mouth to which AK checks up on her, It was about Matthews.... after the death of Wolf he has been struggling to do things properly and he just isn't the same as he was before it all. The happy and cheerful person she once knew has become nothing more but an empty shell of a man. The pressure he has been given to be the next leader of Sector V and restore it was big shoes to fill.

Vector was still annoyed from Wolf revealing her feelings to Matthews like that but she could see why he did it, she took to long to tell him and it must of been killing Wolf internally. But doing that has helped Matthews a lot more to cope with the grief of losing Wolf and Ross.

AK 12: Did Anders tell you yet?

Vector: Anders?

AK 12: The Azur Lane commander.

AN 94: That's his name... wait why do you call him by his own name?

AK 12: It's because he said he wants to be equals with us all which I can get behind.

Vector: Pretty laid back.

AK 12: Anyway Sector V is getting a new person to help train some new recruits in stealth operations.

Vector: Matthews told me about that.. his name is Ridge right?

They sorta heard the rumours about hi being a hunter but it was only rumours, for Vector she didn't care to much since Sector V needed all the help it could get. But for AN she was suspicious about him, since she didn't hear or see what was on the USB that Wolf threw to AK before he died so all she knew is that the Hunters were very dangerous and having Ridge here was even more risky.

She couldn't understand why he would be bothered to help any of them besides trying to get information out of them and cause more trouble for the forces. But AK looked at AN with a stare that she knew all to well, she knew to trust AK and after what happened with DEFY and Wolf she could trust AK more than Angelia after what happened. Even she didn't believe what Wolf had done since she used to train with him with AK and she knew he would never do something like that.

"His sister is why he is helping us". The shock from both of the girls said it all, they were not expecting him to be helping because of something like this. AK informs them what happened in the cafeteria and the coastal fort incident with Ohio. Ridge's sister is in a coma due to a disease and he needed a cure. Ander's promised him that they will try to find one in exchange for his corporation. However the two girls didn't feel that they could trust him cause what would stop him from turning on them after curing his sister.

AK 12: Trust me when you meet him you'll see why he wouldn't.

AN 94: If you say so

AN 94 decides to hug AK for while since she misses her... a lot of people at the GFL base does but AK made her choice to fight on a different front.

AN 94: I've missed you AK....

AK 12: AN... I'm not missing in the base we still are all here just on different sides.

Vector: Also 416 joined Sector V same as me, some others are still thinking about it but don't know if they could handle it.

*Knock *Knock

AK 12: Who would be visiting a infirmary this late at night?

The door opens and a head peaks in. It was Matthew peaking in raising his hand to wave. He says afternoon but makes a joke that it is a little late to say something like that. He gets a hello from AN and AK as he walks over to Vector and gives her a kiss on the cheek which she blushes to. He gives a quick apology while smiling as he begins to tell a embarrassing story with him opening the door without knocking to find her wearing a maid's costume but before he could finish he felt a blunt pain in his gut.
