The Soldiers Of Sector V.
Chapter 40 MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS

Caution Readers this chapter might get a bit brutal so be warned if you want to skip it that's ok. A/N.

Perri sits in the operations room waiting at the war table for news. After the last revelation from Wolf, he was expecting the worse. They couldn't afford to hear that the Iris had been destroyed since then it would be considered the end of Azur Lane. They wouldn't be able to operate with missing nations especially when two giants were in the Crimson Axis. However he decides to check in with the Sector V stealth mission that would give them some technical documents.

Jenkins struggles to give Perri the right words to what he was exactly seeing which could only made Perri sigh. He asked Matthews if he can see anything to whihc he did have better news on it than Jenkins. Standing before the Sector V soldiers was a strong fortified Sangvis Ferri base that was heavily guarded. To Perri it felt like the mission was going to be a bust but upon giving the offer for backup Matthews turns him down since they believed they could handle it.

The transmission ends, Perri looks back at the War table. The war table has a map of the area and icons on it to represent certain things. Perri hopes this mission for Sector V goes well since that Intel might bring them one step closer to finding some targets. He wouldn't look at it for long since a voice calls out from the other side of the room notifying him of a message coming from Wolf.

He orders it to be patched through as the radio crackles through the channels as they make a connection to Wolf. The crackling stopped as Perri listened in to it but was taken back after he could hear the sound of an alarm along with a person coughing through the words. It was Wolf in the engine room putting out a engine fire on one of the boilers but to Perri it probably wasn't the reason he called to which he laughs.

He had some good news that make command hold their breath for it. They would hope that finally there would be something to cheer about instead of crying about. Which was when Wolf tells them with a upbeat voice that the Iris Libre and Vichya Dominion have reformed the Iris Orthodoxy. For some of the command they begin to cheer but for some they wait for Wolf to give the rest of the news.

The last good message he gives them is that they are also planning to re-join Azur Lane which made the command centre falls silent for a sec followed by a cheer as they all cheer that things are turning around. He tells them that they are coming back followed by a metal clang noise that makes him yell out "Damnit!" The sudden exclamation made some in the room jump but Perri asked him if he was alright in the engine room.

Wolf had managed to drop the spanner through the grate sending it crashing onto the lower levels of the boiler room but thankfully he had spares around. Wolf requests an escort along with Tirpitz and Heinrich to which he thanks Perri for. But before the static got too bad he told him that there was someone at the base that wants to see him, he doesn't elaborate besides that to which Wolf could only agree to. The two end their radio contact and Perri gives the order for some ship girls to head out and escort.

Perri: One step closer to victory.

POV Matthews

Matthews: See anything Evans?

Evans: Well lets see.. *Looks in Binoculars*

The Thermals turn on as Evans views the surrounding area for enemies. For a mission that was supposed to be quick has not become a time intensive operation after the realisation that there are a lot more enemies station than the intel stated. Evans sweeps to the building roof and could see two enemies prone on the roof. Their lens flash around the place which was enough for the two to confirm that they were indeed snipers.
