Chapter 72 TEACHING VENTURE

After a nice meet and greet the group waits till the night approaches with Evans playing cards with Cleveland and Davis with Evans showing of his card skills getting a royal flush as the two look in shock. But when Davis asked to do rock paper scissors with Evans he out right refuses. The incident with Abigail made sure that he didn't play rock paper scissors but before he could reject it Abigail had seen them playing a game of rock paper scissors.

Evans tries to leave but she grabs him by his collar with a cute smile she places him back on the chair as she takes a seat as well. Davis was a bit surprised of the forceful intrusion from Abigail but before he could continue she holds her hand out for a game of Rock paper scissors. There was no harm with that but the shaking of Evans head made Davis a little nervous as to why. Abigail gives a sharp glare at Evans that makes him lurch back and look away.

Davis makes the first shake as she does the same, Evans could only watch in horror for what's about to unfold but to his surprise Davis actually beat Abigail first round. It had also caught her off guard which made her want to go for best of five but that would be her downfall. For some reason Davis was just better at rock paper scissors than her which she looked devastated.  

Evans looked happy but it all changed when she gave him a wicked look holding her hand out for another game of rock paper scissors but Evans refuses. Luckily for him Enterprise enters the place and hands a coffee to Davis. 

Enterprise: I see that you two are going to go on your first mission.... are you guys nervous?

Evans: Not really after what I've seen on the battlefield it isn't much.

Abigail: Same as me here and with Evans I know I'm in good hands same goes with you guys.

Enterprise: Well then I wish you good luck...

Davis: Mind if I ask your backstories?

With a sip of the coffee cup Davis places the cup on the table clasping his hands together ready to listen to the work. Evans goes first and explains to Davis about where he was from and where he fought along with Wolf. Davis knew that Evans and Abigail were Wolfs old teammates so he was curious to hear stories from his old squamates. While Wolf had told them stories about himself he never talked about the other squad mates he was with.

Evans tells them when he meet Wolf and Abigail in the army in the same regiment. The three were inseparable which was when sometime Evans asked Wolf and Ross for advice on asking Abigail out but he wasn't sure what to tell her. No matter how many times he tried preparing himself in the mirror, he just couldn't ask her out. Upon saying all this Davis could see Abigail was getting a little embarrassed but she recomposes.

Abigail begins to explain her backstory joining the army and meeting Ross and Wolf then Evans. They fought through hell with each other and made it through plenty of the missions before Evans was the first then her leaving Ross and Wolf till eventually Wolf was the last one.

Enterprise: So you guys all served in the same squad... how big was Sector V?

Abigail: Around 1000 strong originally and I believe it was a lot bigger but it began to become more specialised but eventually people left, went rogue or died in combat leaving it around 100 but well as you know Sector V is still rebuilding it's special forces.

Davis: So Evans my question to you is what made you want to get a rigging? Was it the cool laser light shows? The massive explosions that you thought you could only see in the movies or just wanted to float on water?
