On the way home Alden tried to ask Amauri about his time:

"Did you have fun!

-Yes! I love going out with Mommy!

-Me too, Darling. And... Did you like the other people there?

-Not as much as mommy.

-You are adorable. But... Did you not make any friends?"

Amauri didn't even think about it for a second:

"No.

-Oh... I see. That's okay, Darling.

-Yes, I am not sad. Everyone wants to be my friend, which is irritating.

-Why?

-Because I see that their parents are forcing them.

-You are a very smart child. Unfortunately a lot of people will try to be your friend. Because you are someone important.

-I know, that mommy. Thank you.

-Aren't you sad?

-No. Because I already have people I love.

Amauri froze and started crying. Seeing this, Alden panicked:

"What's wrong? Are you okay? Are you hurt somewhere?"

Amauri shook his head before hugging his mommy.

"I love you too."

Alden really wanted to cry but did his best not to. Seeing him in this state, Tyon smiled before whispering:

"You can cry too."

Alden shook his head:

"I am not crying."

Tyon scoffed before whipping Alden's cheek:

"I see.

-I really am not.

-I didn't say anything.

-But you were thinking it.

-Are you a mind reader now?

-What if I am?

-Nothing surprises me anymore."

Alden looked away irritated. He didn't like crying. Despite telling Amauri that it was okay, he hated it. Anyone could cry, but not him. Anyone but him. Wanting to change the topic, Alden said the first thing he thought of:

"I am sorry."

Tyon frowned:

"For what?

-For what I said. I didn't talk to you about it first but I said the wedding would be in spring."

Hearing about the wedding, Amauri straightened immediately:

"I can't wait for the wedding!

-Are you excited about it?

-Yes. I want to see my mommy's dress.

-Me too."

Alden turned to Tyon, his eyebrows raised.

"I thought you didn't like mommy's dresses."

Alden immediately started laughing while Tyon glared at Amauri.

"I love mommy's dresses."

Alden grinned:

"Oh really?

-Yes."

In front of such determination Alden lost his grin and retreated a bit.

"You said mommy's dresses were monstrous.

-I love this child. He is my best bodyguard.

-He is not strong enough to be your bodyguard yet.

-But I will be soon!

-I will always be stronger.

-Stop it you too. Amauri, you can't talk this way to your father, and Tyon you are not a child why are you acting like one? Apologize to each other."

Both of them pouted.

"But dada said...

-I don't care what dada said. I love you for protecting me but he is still your father. Apologize to him.

-I am sorry Dada. I was angry because you were mean to mommy.

-Well done, Amauri. Tyon?

-I am sorry."

Alden rolled his eyes. He really had two children instead of one. Wasn't Tyon supposed to be a blood thirsty commander?

"Let's change the subject. What do we do about the contract?"

Tyon frowned.

"What do you want to do?

-Our contract is over in three months but I don't plan on leaving Amauri's life. I want another contract.

-Do you need a contract?

-Yes. We never know what might happen."

Tyon felt really sad that Alden didn't trust him at all but he didn't say any of it:

"Okay. I'll write whatever you want.

-Really? Can I write anything?

-Anything."

Alden wanted to see how far Tyon would go and grinned:

"If I want ten million gold?

-Okay.

-What if I want all the servants to wear the dresses I make?

-Okay.

-And if I want balls every day?

-Okay.

-What if I ask for the whole mansion?

-I'll give it to you."

He frowned. What was wrong with this guy?

"You are going to give me your mansion?

-Yes.

-But why?

-You want it."

Alden signed.

"Tyon, you can't just give people anything they want.

-I want to.

-And if I ask why you are going to say something weird again?

-Yes.

-Fine. I won't ask for the mansion. I want to be Amauri's mother legally and have the final word in everything regarding him.

-Okay. What else?

-Nothing. That's all I want.

-Is it really all?

-Yes."

Tyon wanted Alden to ask for a lot more. He could give him anything he wanted but he only wanted Amauri.

"Our life won't change after the wedding. We will continue the same way as before. It was your idea anyway to get married. And if someday you have someone you like, we can get divorced any time."

Tyon froze.

"I won't.

-You never know.

-I won't. I don't want a divorce."

Alden rolled his eyes.

"You are weird.

-Will you get a divorce?

-I don't know. We will see."
