[BL] The knight commander's son

Chapter 26

After introducing Amauri to everyone, the little family got invited to hundreds of balls and other events. Tyon was already very popular but it was nothing compared to then. Seeing all the invites, Alden thought about it for a second.

"Is there somewhere you want to go to? asked Tyon.

-I think Amauri needs to make friends his age."

Tyon nodded.

"Okay.

-We could go to the events where there are children too.

-Okay."

Alden put the invites into two different groups: thos where there would be children and those where there wouldn't. Once done, he chose his favorite ones and brought them to Tyon's desk.

"Which one would you want to go to?

-Any of them.

-I can't choose. You choose.

-Then this one.

-A tea party? Good idea. Amauri could play outside while making friends. But isn't it too cold for this?

-It won't be outside.

-Then were?

-In a greenhouse.

-Oh that sounds nice."

Tyon smiled.

"What?

-It is written in the invites."

Alden rolled his eyes.

"I didn't read everything. Invites are so boring."

Then it was decided and a few days later, the little family went to the tea party. The greenhouse was very impressive and Alden liked it there. People were quite nice despite being really curious about them and he could relax a bit. Amauri at first didn't want to leave his mommy and only stayed next to him despite the kids calling but soon Alden convinced him to go play while the adults talked while drinking tea and eating biscuits.

Of course the first theme of conversation was Amauri:

"We were really surprised to hear about your story. You are so brave to raise a child on your own.

-Thank you.

-Would you mind telling us more about it?"

Alden quite liked their way of asking questions.

"I was really surprised to become a mom. I wasn't expecting it at all and it was as if everything had happened suddenly. But I immediately loved him. He is an adorable kid and I would do anything to make him happy.

-You are an incredible mom and Amauri does love you very much it seems.

-He is very sweet.

-Thank you.

-And how did Amauri react when he met his father?"

Alden thought about it for a second.

"They were really awkward around each other at first but Amauri immediately loved him.

-That's so cute. And you, Duke? Did you love him immediately?"

Tyon bit his lips thinking back to his first encounter with Amauri.

"I did. But as Alden said, I was uncomfortable. I didn't know how to act. Alden helped me a lot."

People seemed to love their story for some reason.

"How did you two meet?"

Alden started laughing and Tyon knew he wouldn't like it.

"I remember the first time I saw Tyon. He was the cold and terrifying knight commander. We went to the same ball and as soon as I arrived someone had the bad idea to walk too close to Tyon which made him flip out. He pushed the person away and made them trip before glaring at them eyes full of hate. Quite a first image. I despised him a lot for being so few fun."

The others laughed uncomfortably not knowing what to say. The Duke still behaved that way and was even worse but they couldn't say that.

"Then how did you end up with a child? If I may ask."

Alden laughed. She already asked but it didn't bother him.

"Guess I had something for bad boys."

Tyon almost choked and Alden laughed even more.

"Then what about now?

-Hum..."

Alden turned to Tyon and looked at him for a moment. He stared for so long that Tyon's cheeks started to heat up but he didn't want to look away curious about the answer.

"He is different."

The others didn't agree but were still hung up on their romance to mind.

"How come?

-He can be really nice."

Alden still found it weird but he couldn't deny that Tyon was doing everything he could for Alden. He protected him from a sword, he threw a man into prison for touching him, he washed his feet... Alden didn't understand why but Tyon was always there for him. That was why he didn't want to think about the wedding. He liked his life the way it was but he didn't like liking it. He felt exposed and vulnerable and wanted to leave but at the same time he was happy. Couldn't he be happy? He didn't have the answer.

"He... Is there for me."

Alden felt very weird for some reason and the others started giggling which wasn't helping. After torturing Alden enough, they turned to Tyon who was harder to make talk:

"What about Alden? How is he?"

Tyon didn't take his eyes off Alden for a second.

"He is perfect. He is unique."

Alden felt weird for some reason and couldn't look at Tyon who didn't take his eyes off the young man.

"When will the wedding be?"

Tyon didn't say anything waiting for Alden's answer. The young man didn't tell him if they would get married yet and he didn't want to talk in his stead.

"We don't have a date yet."

Alden's answer didn't mean they wouldn't get married yet and he knew it. Alden didn't want to stay away from Amauri and if he had to marry Tyon for this then he would.

"But do you have a month of preference?

-I don't like winter.

-Then during spring?

-Yes."

Tyon raised his eyebrows. Were they going to get married next spring? Alden didn't dare look at Tyon in his shame. Yes he did just set a date someway and yes he did just agree to marry him. He couldn't see Tyon beaming but he could feel it and it was weird. Why was he so happy?

Seeing this shy couple, the guests started melting:

"You two are adorable.

-You should invite us to the wedding."

Alden smiled still playing the game:

"Sure. With pleasure."

He really wanted to talk about something else and Amauri coming back saved the situation.

"Mommy! I saw a very beautiful insect!

-Really? What did it look like?

-It was really colorful and interesting from up close. Can I take it home?

-Do you think they would be happy to be taken away from their home?

-No... I will leave them be. I am just happy to have seen them.

-I am proud of you.

-Could I have some tea?

-Of course."

Alden lifted Amauri to his knees and served him some tea in his own cup.
