Chapter 36

Alden hated losing control and feeling overpowered he started panicking but having this strong man giving him back control immediately calmed his heart slowly. This man was on a leash but what if the leash broke? Alden continued thinking about these things and seeing him all flustered, Tyon kissed his forehead softly:

"I'll never do anything you don't want me to."

Alden didn't want to believe him. He needed to stay on edge and be sure to never let go but for some reason he immediately relaxed and his breathing stabilized. Tyon smiled and didn't ask for another kiss, putting Alden down gently. He immediately decided to forget about this, wanting to have fun and smiled at Amauri who wanted his mommy to hug him. Alden lifted Amauri and the latter glared at his dad, not happy to see that his mommy was starting to warm up to him.

The kiss over, Alden noticed all the eyes on them. He started to get used to it and laughed. Who would have thought that the cold Commander of Death who hated people touching his aura would kiss someone at New Year's Eve? Some people were blushing while looking at the little family while the King was openly having fun:

"Ah... Newlyweds. I would love the Honeymoon phase to last as long as possible."

Scared that Alden would start overthinking again, Tyon immediately covered his ears. Alden turned to his fiance and laughed:

"It's okay. I don't care."

Tyon stared at him for a second before letting go. Alden continued being all smiles and lovey dovey for the whole ball. He had to dance every two dances with Amauri and the rest with Tyon, sometimes even dancing with the two at the same time to calm them down. Alden would have been exhausted if he wouldn't have been carried by Tyon most of the time. And despite dancing for hours with a grown man in his arms, Tyon seemed still ready to go. Seeing this, Alden pushed his shoulder:

"How can you be so energetic? You are a monster."

Alden bit his lip:

"A very nice monster I mean."

Tyon laughed:

"I don't mind."

Alden shook his head. He would hate Tyon calling him a monster, then why was it okay for him to say it?

"I am sorry."

Tyon frowned.

"You don't have to...

-I should. You have been very nice to me lately and I should at least be polite to you. You are not a monster, Tyon. And the fact that you are okay being called that is wrong. I don't know if you are a good person but you have been nice lately and I never thought of you as a monster."

Tyon seemed really touched. Almost ready to cry. Seeing him like this, Alden hugged him. Seeing them all touchy, some people dared to say something:

"You two are really adorable."

Alden smiled:

"Yes we are. My Tyon is the best husband I could ask for."

Alden felt Tyon shake in his arms holding back tears. Alden saw how similar he was to Amauri and really wanted to help him too.

"He is perfect and if anyone dares hurt him, I am going to kill you."

People started laughing:

"Oh, my. Who would dare hurt the Duke?"

Alden shrugged:

"No matter how strong we are, we can always get hurt. But I will never forgive anyone who hurts my baby."
