" Why the fuck you were not picking up the call and where are you?" His deep melodious and anxiety-filled voice growled through the phone.

" What you want?" I questioned, tugging my lips inward. The sweet kiss we shared flickered in front of my vision then the moment was ruined by the recollection of the morning when he was with Ava.

" Where are you?" He drawled out through his clenched teeth; I could certainly envision him with his stoned and irritation-stricken countenance at my lack of co-operation. The sound of distinct chattering could be heard.

Where was he? I thought.

"I wondered why my whereabouts concern your business," I said coldly, If he could be harsh then I could be brutal as well, and the day before hostility after the confectionary kiss he illustrated wasn't forgotten by me.

"For fuck sake Emerald, tell me where are you, it's late night and you are not at the dorm." He bellowed; his outrage didn't bother me but I recognized a flicker of concern for my well-being. It wasn't meant for me to discover but his agitation damaged his facade, and it was sufficient to catch the leakage of his emotion. And then there he called my name again, sending an esoteric shiver through my body.

All the resentment towards him from earlier days vanished in thin air like it was never transpired, like after giving me a wonderful enchanted kiss he wasn't hostile towards me, like his words didn't break my tapestry.

How could the volume of his kiss be this so strong?

My heart clenched, rousing the tremendous amount of butterflies in my stomach. I was afraid, he will compel me to commit a wonderful sin if I will remain in touch with his company.

" Why do you want to know?" I inquired, not yearning to subdued his anxiety equalizing the miscellaneous time he kept me in uncertainty.

"Damn stubborn, aren't you?" He had comprehended that I was purposely being adamant and for some unfathomable justification my lips twitched.

"If you can be then so I can," I replied with rapture contained in my tone.

A silence fell over, making me wonder if perhaps my lack of information annoyed him to the point that he had hung up the phone in irritation. But then, the exhalation of soft breath from the other side was evident his presence still lingered on phone.

" Will you tell me, where are you?" So soft, like the petal of flowers, his harmonious voice fell into my ears through the phone.

My breath hitched.

It rigorously sounded like the very morning when for the first time he drew out my name soft and gentle manner. A warmth sprinkled all over my body.

"I am at Lucy's room, she needed me after what occurred earlier today," my voice as well as a whisper. This softness melted me.

"Are you...alright?" He inquired, hesitantly. I know he wanted to know if I was hurt after Roger has pushed me.

"I could hear concerned in your voice," I pointed out, just to irritate him. It was so effortless to communicate with him, then, at the moment.

"Well, your teasing tone clearly indicate that you are doing fine." He said in a light tone. Before I could converse any further, Lucy's voice interrupted me.

" Emerald, what are you doing?" She asked, drowsiness didn't leave her.

" Huh-Nothing," I said, glancing over my shoulder, and peeking at her.

" I have to go, Lucy is awake," I said briskly and without giving heed to his response, I disconnected the call. I trudged to bed, with my lips curled in happiness.
