We had a perfect rendezvous, plenished with sweet small talk and a long drive with delicious food. After reaching home in the late morning, we were instantly driven to sleep.

No, I didn't tell Aiden about my internship. I couldn't tarnish the perfect night by bringing news in, which indeed was going to rise the chaos. I knew this was a matter that should be needed to handle with fragility, my one wrong action could have caused damage beyond my control.

Time was needed, to make him understand, and for him to think, however, time was what I didn't had. My head was clouded with assorted thoughts, at least there was a good thing to hold on, my internship.

"Emerald?" I tilted my head in direction of a heavy voice and found Holden standing at the door frame of my dorm room. I shifted a little on my bed from my sitting position.

" Hey, what you are doing here?" I smiled. It was a long since we had an encounter and I was delighted to see him again.

"I came here to visit Grace. Lately, she been distant and just wildly partying around, I am worried about her," Holden was a protective brother, there wasn't a single doubt.

" Yes, even I too noticed that. Do you know what is going on with her?"

" No, but today I will confront her," His eyes traveled to the suitcase in my hand, and confusion glazed in his eyes." Are you going somewhere?"

I came to my dorm just after college for packing the requisite things as soon I was leaving for London, most of my belonging was at my mother's house, so I could only carry a few things with me to England. We were provided with hotels to dwell for the first month until we found the place to abode.

" Yes, I am selected for the internship which is in England, so for the next four months I will be staying there."

" Oh, that's amazing. Well congratulations!" There was a genuine smile glazed on his face, how I wished this exact smile to be seen on Aiden's face after he learn about my internship. Holden appeared like there was something more he wanted to say but was restraining himself.

" So, when are you going?" he asked instead.

" By the end of the week."

" That's early," sadness was visible in eyes. "Wish you luck."

I smiled and rose from my bed to reach for another bag that was seated above the shelf, which was high for my short height. He watched me struggling to reach the shelf and kindly lend me a helping hand by withdrawing the bag from the rack with his tall build, however, the process poorly took a wrong turn when my feet tangled with the handle of the bag. In a blink, I slipped but Holden had caught me before I could fell on the ground, hard.

In a state of shock, I didn't realize that his arms wrapped around my waist and my body was touching his until a sound of clapping could be heard from the entrance of the room.

Clap.

Clap.

Clap.

Grace.

In an instant, I created a distance between myself and Holden, and procured a warm smile in Grace's direction. Ultimately, I will be able to meet Grace, so many days later, I thought.

" So Emerald, first Aiden and now Holden. Good, how do you this? Trapping the boys, ahh? Is it for fun or are you a gold digger?"

My smile dropped.

The harsh words withdrew from her mouth has left the air from my chest. Her face was cold and hard, her eyes were sunken, it looked like she hadn't slept in days and the glow has faded from her countenance, this was a sight that was something I had never witnessed before. She looked at me with aversion in her gaze, like I am the most distasteful person she had ever seen. Most importantly, she was sober.
