"Emerald," I swerved around as I heard the familiar voice of Elliot roaring my name. He waddled toward me with a pleasant smile attached to his face.

"It's been a long time, where you have been?" I asserted.

" Yes, actually I have gone to my mum's house she is sick," he rubbed his hand on the back of his head.

"Oh, that's unfortunate, I hope she recovers soon," we commenced strolling in the hallways while conversing.

" Yeah, she is better than before but still there is the possibility that her health deteriorates if no proper attention is given. That's why, I am leaving again today." He unloaded a few books from his satchel.

" I have come to borrow the lesson which been missed out in these past days, would mind lending me your notes?" he implored.

"Absolutely not but you have to come with me to my dormant as I have kept the notes there," I beamed.

" That's not a problem but before we head there can you help me with something," he asked with the prospect that my response turned favorable.

" What is it?"

"Will you come with me to acquire some flowers for my mother, she loves flowers and I have no idea which to purchase," he said.

As Elliot was speaking, my gaze fell on certain someone in the bustling campus hallway.

My breath hitched and my heart missed a beat.

Aiden was standing there will some fellows, laughing and bantering. I didn't see him from the past morning when the predicament transpired. He was so engrossed in some conversation that he failed to acknowledge my presence and I as well withheld myself from drawing light on myself.

My strides velocity excessively intensified, why was I fleeting? What was I afraid of? Why didn't I want Aiden to notice me? Why I am so bothered?

Elliot's voice retrieved me from vicious impressions.

" Emerald, can you slow down, you are walking too fast," he complained.

" Sorry," I gave him apologetic smile, thank God Aiden didn't notice me.

" So, will you come?" It took me some moments to comprehend his question that he wanted my assistance in selecting flowers for his mother.

" Yes sure," was my monosyllabic reply.

Even after the enormous pondering over Aiden, I failed to conclude a single rational decision, so it was better to leave the topic untouched.

" It wouldn't be possible if you were not here," a pleased expression was apparent on Elliot's face. Thereon, with tremendous efforts, we determined that lilies were competently a genuine selection for his mother.

" No worry, lilies are clearly the best preference, your mom going to love it," I beamed.

" I hope so."

Currently, we were heading to my dormant room to acquire the assignments that I promised him to lend. I ensured that reflections about Aiden would sow in the depths of my mind, and not bother me. We soon arrived at the room; however, my surprise reached the next degree when vociferous noises of music and commotions was heard from indoors.

" Is some party going on here?" Elliott asked with a pinch of confusion.

"I think so," I thrust the door inwardly which was formerly unlocked and advanced inside, not even a remote step further inside was taken that my nose scrunched in repulsion as I inhaled the pungent whiff of alcohol. A mass number of people were slumping on the bed and floor in a stupor of alcohol. Instinctively, my eyes explored around the room to catch glimpse of Aiden's familiar face but he was nowhere to be found my happening gaze fell on Holden, who was conversing with an unfamiliar face while drinking from the can.
