"Respect? Are you kidding me? You have lost respect for yourself a long time ago," Aiden snorted.

The place where I stood was convenient to peek without any undertakings. The man, Aiden's father, was a tall lean man, with a chiseled face and grey hair. He appeared, indeed attractive, time had not weakened his charm.

Aiden's father's face contoured in affliction, he sharply inhaled and after gathering tranquility and formulated himself, he glanced at him.

"Aiden, son please think about what I said earlier," he announced, overlooking Aiden's hostility. It was not my intention to eavesdrop on their conversation but I couldn't resist the urge to unfold the mystery of Aiden.

"There is nothing to think about, my answer is the same as it always has been," Aiden's tone was eerily calm, like the silence before the forthcoming storm.

" This conversation is over; would you mind leaving?" Aiden pointed at the door where unfortunately I was present. Suddenly, his gaze fell on me and fury colder than frost glinted on his expression.

My stomach twisted.

Aiden's father descended without paying me any heed, my gaze caught his face, it was ruddy due to outrage. He slammed the door harshly behind him making me startled.

"What are you doing here?" Aiden inquired in harsh tone and at the same moment the lady appeared

" Ma'am here, I hope this was the thing you were searching for," the lady saved me from responding to Aiden's query and handed me the exact bracelet I was yearning for.

" Thank you." I politely gave her my gratitude and with a brief nod, she departed. A boisterous sound of something crashing to the ground, urged me to peer at Aiden, he had flung an expensive antique vase and its pieces shattered like walnuts. A faint trace of irritation blanketed his body, he ran his hand over his face several times, and worry for him seeped inside me.

" Are you okay?" My voice came out timid and smooth, he peeped at me, stare blazing with icy fury.

"What's all this worry for? last time I checked, there was nothing between us," he growled. His gaze darkened and my pulse quickened.

"I-I was -" I stuttered, incompetent to construct a coherent sentence. His long and powerful limbs consumed the distance between us in flickers.

" You what?" He pushed me against the wall and clutched my shoulder in a firm grip. Hues of green barely distinct from ebony, a spark ignited over my skin as he pressed himself upon me.

"Trying to help." I quickly drawled out, if the grip wasn't any tighter before it became solid to the juncture where it ignited to hurt.

" You think you can help me? Wrapping bandage and dropping me and all made you think that you could be my savior, isn't it?" he imposed more pressure and I flinched. His hot breath mingled with my harsh exhale.

"You can't help, do you understand? Sweet innocent girl. You can't help! No one can help me."

It was a massive mistake to assume, he would be civilized after the morning that we share in gentility. He was colder than ice, inconsiderable than the devil. My lips quivered, as tears brimmed in my vision, from pain, and for believing a man like him could be soft, he was morbid.

" You are hurting me," hearing my sorrow-knitted tone, his haze was broken and he withdrew his hand like touched the fire. I was certain the next day faint bruises would forge.

He breath, heavily

"Don't poke your nose in my matters," he roared warningly.

" We are nothing more than strangers." He continued, without glancing at me. With a long stride, he went behind me and brutally opened the door.
