Chapter 36

After paying a visit to the bathroom to refresh and setting a purpose to locate Holden or Grace for taking me back to dormant, I wandered around. While searching for them, my lack of alertness resulted in hitting on the large masculine figure. When I peered at the person after gaining the stability to apologize, my gaze fastened with an individual whom I hadn't expected to come across tonight.

" Sweetheart, we met again. Now I am certain destiny has plans for us, "Daniel's rich voice boomed over music.

Last time I learned my lesson well. Whenever he is around there was not a single thing that can go correct. He carries disaster with him, and for some reason, deep inside I could feel strongly that tonight this disaster will incur the destruction that will tarnish everything.

"Can you please excuse me," was my weak answer. He smiled.

"First give me the honor of having a dance with you."

He spoke like a gentleman, soft and polite. If I wasn't acquainted with his past ordeal, I will be deceived by his modesty. He stretched his hand forward, gesturing for me to put my hand in his.

"Sorry, I just want to go," before I could walk, his voice froze me in place.

" This one dance can be advantageous. I know some interesting secrets about Aiden," he offered.

I was always a curious person, and even more inquisitive when it was about Aiden, however, with Aiden's secrets, I learned the art of patience. Time is always needed to unearth great discoveries. Not paying any heed to his words, I decided to walk away, this time for good, however, words hurriedly disposed from his mouth.

" Aiden is not what you think."

" And what do you know of what I think about him?" I glared at him, stepping closer to him with a frown settled on my face.

He smirked.

" How about I tell you that on the dance floor? Come on Emerald, it's just a dance, I won't be inappropriate in any way I promise, of course unless you want me to." And before I could think he dragged me to the dance floor.

" Leave me alone, Daniel!" I shouted, snatching my arms from his grasp. He didn't bother about my consent and perfectly swirled me around, and then caught me in his arms. Then his mouth moved near my ear and whispered in a gruff and stringent tone," You are messing with the wrong guy."

Luminous light was falling on our faces and entangled bodies encircled us. He was shrewd and clever and playing mind games with me, however, he didn't know that he was playing with the wrong individual too, and he doesn't have a chance to win. I couldn't discern whom he was indicating, him or Aiden. Ultimately, I ardently believed that he was talking about himself.

I pulled myself away from him and looked straight at him. "Am I? You are a fool."

The confidence which was radiating through me was a surprise element to me as well. His smirk fell and hatred flashed in his eyes after learning about my vehemence.

" Show this exact confidence when he will destroy you like he ruined Alexander." His discourse was intensely venomous that for a moment my visage wavered.

" What do you mean?" My determination wavered.

" Curious, are we? So bad, I would love to keep you in dark as things are getting interesting." Amusement lingered on his exterior, as his eyes flickered behind my back for a brief moment. What was he talking about?

But before I could reap a chance to ponder on his mysterious remark, a fist flew in the air and connected Daniel to in jaw followed by a strong hand clasping my shoulder, and harshly swirled me, my gaze greeted with the wrath-filled eyes of Aiden.
