We kissed liked there was no tomorrow.

No crackling of the door nor a thud of heavy footsteps was heard until a shrill gasp reached my ears and I reprieve my lips from the imprisonment of Aiden's mouth.

" What the fuck is going on here!?" Grace looked at Aiden and then at me with wide eyes. I remove my arms from Aiden's neck which was still settled around him and rose from his lap, straightening the shirt which was crumbled during our reckless activity and I assign all blame to Aiden for this sweet devastation. Grace gave an intent look, deepening into a frown of dislike and distrust.

She was left for the club so why was she here?

" You went with others..." I trailed off, not knowing how to react, as she caught us doing something sinful.

" Blake was caught with something so we delayed our plan," she answered me, and then looked sharply at Aiden, " What are you playing at Aiden?"

My breath stopped.

" What are you talking about?"

" You know fucking well what I am talking about. She is too innocent for your games; you will hurt her."

" I am not fucking doing anything!"

" Then why were you kissing her!?" There was a scowl on her face, she didn't appreciate his answers, and neither did I. My mouth opened but no words followed. Comprehending my struggle, from the corner of my eyes I saw him peeking at me for a second and then easily drew out the answer.

"It was nothing." My neck spun so quickly in his direction that it could break, his eyes were already fixed on me. The world was still moving but my entire movement had stopped, "–We were just fooling around.

My heart felt a tug, a painful tug, which was unbearable. Could he be more blunt about it? My eyes infinitesimally narrowed at him, barren of any emotions. Just a few junctures ago we were kissing, having the most intimate moment of my entire life. He glorified me with his words just to renounce me far more viciously.

I looked down upon him with the loftiest contempt and softest plead. That maybe he would explain further. He kept his gaze cold and vacant; his emotions were unfathomable.

" Aiden," I said weakly when he didn't explain further.

" What Emerald? It was nothing, right?" He said so simply that this simplicity turned into complexity with his answer. Incapable to yield a word out, I heavily nodded, agreeing with his statement even though I wanted to refute it.

It was not nothing, it was everything, Aiden. Everything! I wanted to scream it out loud.

He cocked his in the direction where Grace stood with a look of perplexity.

" It's better be nothing Aiden, I don't want her to be hurt because of you," she warned.

It's too late to save me, I am already hurt, Grace.

I bite my lips, as they trembled. Was it a game for him? Whatever he said earlier today was it real or he was pretending with me?

I felt two pairs of eyes burn at me, but I didn't look up.

"Emerald girl, are you up for some sandwiches?" She asked.

The uproar of his words was a long lingering agony in my heart, only the distraction and distance could soothe it, so, hastily I walked into the kitchen without glancing at him. I knew, one look at him would break me. The tear threatened to break free and breathing was on verge of strangling me with its firm grip.

Grace was hot on my heels. I grabbed some of the ingredients which will require for preparing food. Grace started rummaging throughout the kitchen to discover some editable items which can tame her hunger for a while.
