Chapter 21- VANISH

CARTER POV

"There is no news on how either of the girls are doing," Belle reports back to me.

I spit the spoiled cig on the ground and slam the car door. Waving my hands angrily, I kick the rock two feet away.

"Nothing... Absolutely nothing," it has been a week since both of them went into a coma.

I open the car door and slam it again, over and over. Where the fuck is that little shit? My energy is depleting and there has been no improvement. Sarah must be really stuck somewhere for this to happen.

The new pack is opened by Belle and she gives me one. I light the tip and inhale, the burn becomes numb once I am finished poisoning my lungs.

There is a tight pull on my chest, I rub the area and it releases the tension. Counting to ten, I walk back into the hospital.

"Carter, you can't go in there." I was thrown out two days ago for disrupting the patients.

The patients were fine. It was the cranky haggis nurses that were being bothered. They didn't like that I was angry and mad that there was no update about my girlfriend.

"You said you heard me," Belle reminds me of our talk last night.

I roll my eyes, "You said that I should just vanish."

"I didn't mean it like that. I just thought that with the entity, you could see or feel something going on." She reasons, "you did that before with Sarah."

I turn, "yes." Red flashes in front of me and I can't control the urges to ring her neck out, "WITH. SARAH."

"Why are you being like this?"

She steps back, "Carter, I know you are upset and I am too."

Belle comes forward, " You can tell me what's going on."

"Please," her hand reaches out and she touches my hand. I rip it away and push her hand down, "no."

Okay, I shouldn't have done that. However, she has been on my fucking case since last night. She won't drop the fact I am connected to the entity.

She is obsessed with me... Why? We need to focus on getting Sarah AND Kylie out of the coma.

Plus, has she not forgotten there is something terribly wrong with Jonathan? He had this weird outline around him and it just so happens that Kylie ran off right after he gave her the blanket.

Belle is not focused.

All of her focus, planning, and priorities just vanished over the past three days. Slowly, they were gone and I can't get her to reel back in.
