How would you feel if I made a playlist for the series?

His hands raked over my own the second he stepped into the room. Heat transfers from his hands to my own.

The lights came back on after a slight bump to the entity in the room. I told it to leave the hospital while I worked.

He lays on the bed next to me, his hands never leaving mine once. I closed my eyes to pretend I am sleeping while I plan my next move. Carter knows I am awake, he is talking to me.

"Kylie wants to see you," Belle interrupts him.

He doesn't respond to her right away. I can tell his breathing changes when she steps into the hospital room.

The tension is unbearable. I feel a tight rope being tied around my neck as she steps closer to me and Carter. Her intentions with him are not friendly, the friendly I hoped it would be.

That isn't my problem anymore. My problem is to keep Carter alive and not be killed by the entity. I need to get out of here soon.

"When you fall, I will be here." Carter says to me, "I am going to catch you, I am right here."

He kisses the top of my head and slowly gets out of bed. My right side feels cold without him, but that feeling will go away once I am out of here. Blackness fills the room and the shadow appears over me, the entity wanting to hear this conversation through me. I let it in again.

I hear him reluctantly leave the room. Belle comes up and sits in the chair next to me, "I know you are awake."

Rolling my eyes open, I look at her. She doesn't blink when I sit up and cross my arms.

We both know something has changed and that something is me. Belle wants me to tell her what happened while I was unconscious.

Belle has definitely grown with her abilities in the past week or so. Even though I have been living in hell, the spiritual realm, for eight weeks, I can tell she has more energy running through her.

"Sarah, what happened?"

Her question doesn't surprise me. It is the most expected question anyone would ask me from the long coma and from the trauma of the events one week ago at the bonfire party in the woods.

The fact she already knows so much and I haven't said a word means she has seen it here in the room. That means it allowed itself to be seen, the effects of its power have rubbed off on her and I am worried she will furtherly involve herself.

However, that is not my problem, Carter is. He is the reason for all of this and I need to do right by him.

I watch Belle cross her arms over her chest. She takes a deep breath and puffs her cheeks out. Her hair is pulled out of her face into a low ponytail. The dark blue quarter zip jacket hangs loose on her form.
