Thirty-Seven

Tony stepped out of the elevator, seeing Bruce, Romanoff, Barton, Wilson and Rhodey there. He took a deep breath, hating that he had to tell them, he just hoped, they wouldn't hate her.

'T-tony, there's uh, there's something you should know. There's a connection to Agent Adams with the heart-..'... Bruce begins to tell him, but he puts his hand up.

'Her uncle, I know. I've spoken with her already, and I know what's going on. Look..'.. He sighed, sitting on a stool, facing them all... 'What I'm about to tell you, show you, it'll be a lot. Hard to believe, yeah, but I need you all to remember who Adams really is. Everything she's done for us, the country, the world. She's not a bad person..'

'I'm actually really worried by that. What's going on Tony?'... Nat asks, leaning against a station, watching him.

'I need to show you something first, but don't judge quickly. I'll explain. It'll be hard to watch, but it's where it all starts..'... He takes a breath... 'Jarvis, play the footage of the winter soldier, that Adams showed me..'

Nat frowned, seeing Tonys face pinch in pain as he closed his eyes dropping his head. A holo display came up, playing a security footage. She recognised Adams, seeing her fight a group of men. She watched as she got shot, and the men beginning to beat her.

Nat gasped in shock, seeing the soldier come from the side, punching Adams. She understood the Russian that was spoken... 'No, no Tony stop it. Stop the feed, now..'... She covered her mouth with her hand, seeing Adams get bound, as the soldier held her down, for the men.

'Jarvis stop..'.. Tony says, and it cuts off.

'Does he know?..'.. Nat asks, tearfully, swallowing the emotions back.

'No. She uh, she has an ability, and used it. She persuaded him to never remember her, and he doesn't..'.. His head came up, seeing their faces... 'Just, just let me talk and get this all out, and then I'll answer questions..'

He composed himself as best he could, and then told them everything, she had told him. He held up the drive, letting them know everything was on there.

'Honestly, never thought they existed, but considering what we've faced, not surprised. Huh, I've had sex with a vampire, that's cool..'... Nat nods, lost in thought.

'Really? That's what you're thinking about right now?'... Sam asks in disbelief.

'You haven't had sex with her. Believe me, it's addictive..'... Nat shrugs at him.

'Its hard to swallow, but she's really dying, because she won't feed?'... Clint asks. He didn't care about what she was, she was his friend, his teammate. He'd have her back no matter what, he wasn't afraid of her, he thought it was cool.

'So Fury doesn't know? The government's? How can you be sure she hasn't used whatever voodoo shit she can do on anyone else?'... Rhodey asks Tony, concerned for what she could really do.

She could tear through a whole government by herself if she wanted to, instead she's on our side, fighting for what's right. She's dying, and she's here, helping us, taking care of us. She's not a monster, she's not the enemy, she's Adams. Whatever she is, human or not, she's my friend, our friend. She saved our lives, so I'm saving hers..'... Tony stood, looking around at them all.
