Thirty-Eight

Lexi held onto both their hands, as they rode the elevator to Tony's lab. She was terrified of what the others would think of her. If any of them were afraid, or didn't want her around, she'd leave. She wouldn't make them uncomfortable at all.

The doors open, and she takes a deep breath, stepping out and heading towards the others... 'We got you sweetheart..'.. She heard Rogers whisper, and felt them both give her hands a squeeze of reassurance.

'Um, hi everyone..'.. Lexi couldn't look up from the floor as she spoke, but got jumped on, feeling as though she was wrapped by a boa constrictor. Letting the hands go, she put hers around Romanoff, who held her tight.

'I had sex with a vampire...'... Lexi chuckled, and then laughed. She hugged Romanoff back, feeling better about it all. Red let her go, and stepped back, keeping her hands on Lexis shoulders... 'Is that one of your things? Amazing sex, cause it really was mind blowing..'

Lexi shook her head smirking... 'No. With my heightened senses, I'm able to read your body so well, that I know where and when to hit all the right spots, shall we say..'

Nat sighed sadly... 'If you ever have enough of those two, I'd be more than happy to take their place..'

Lexi kissed her on the lips and winked... 'I'll keep that in mind Red..'

'Ok, now that you two are done with the flirting, let's talk about you..'.. Tony turned to Lexi, giving her a pointed look.

'They're still my guys, they accept me. But is everyone else ok with me?'... She asks nervously, looking around at them all, reading each of them. She noticed Rhodes was hesitant, and Wilson was clearly lost in something good, due to the way his body was being. Banner seemed as though he accepted her, but from what she could tell, he was upset. She saw the sympathy in his eyes knowing that they had seen it.

Barton was grinning like a crazy person and she couldn't help but laugh. She walked over, and he pulled her into a hug... 'So fucking awesome. Got to ask, do you age at all, or is that just a made up thing?'... She moved to his side, nudging him with her shoulder.

'Nope, I'm forever frozen at 27. Which kinda sucks..'.. She sighed, feeling deflated... 'Can't have a family, have a normal life. Can't grow old with my guys..'.. She gave them a sad smile.

Barnes put his arms out to her and she walked over, hugging him first, then Rogers.

'Did you talk to your friend?'... Tony asks her.

'I did. Him and the others will be in the city this evening. I've sent the location of my safe house to him, so they have somewhere to stay. He'll have a few stationed outside the tower, watching over us, while the others track down Connor. I told him I'm going to be bait, Connor wants me. I can get close enough to kill him..'... She says, holding both her guys hands again.

She saw Tony frown at her, and she knew what he was thinking... 'But you're dying. You said you only got a few weeks..'

'Yeah, I'm dying. But I can stop that, if I feed..'... She felt the others tense at her words... 'Blood bags are no good, due to how long I've gone without for, and..'.. She took a deep breath... 'It would have to be fresh, from a vein. I can control it, I promise. Its just..'.. She looked down at the floor.... 'I don't want you thinking I'm a monster, or hate me..'
