Chapter 10.

10. New home .

It was now daytime, I kept running. My legs were hurting, my eyes were puffed and red. I stopped and sat behind a tree. I hugged my knees and cried, "I don't want to be alone..." I whispered as I kept crying. I eventually stopped crying and got up. I kept walking, but didn't even know where I was heading to.

Days went by and no track of anyone, I was back as it all started. Alone. I didn't have food, or water, my ammo was running low so I had to save it. I just used my knife for now. I felt so weak, but I had to keep pushing. I then heard a snap, I turned around and it was a walker. I went up to it and stab it in the head. "Piece of shit." I mumbled and kept walking.

I stopped to take a break, and then kept walking. More days went by, I started to loose hope. I was now weaker than ever, no food, no ammo, no water, no no-one. Alone, I was now walking slowly. I heard noises, footsteps. I hid behind a tree, waiting for the walker to come so I can take it out slowly. I waited when I felt someone grab me and I yelled and kicked it away.

I heard a grunt, "Geez, relax pretty girl. I'm here to help." I looked and saw a white man. "W-who'r you...?" I said dryly and pointed my knife at them. "Jeez, You look like shit, excuse my manners. Names Merle, and what may your name be?" He smirked, "My...name is Y-..." I then felt to the ground and all I saw was darkness.

I woke up in a room, I looked around and saw that there was medical supplies. "The pretty girl is finally awake!" I looked at the direction where the voice was, it was Merle. "Merle..?" My voice cracked, "Rather you say my name with your pretty voice than this." He said as he handed me water and a snack, I took it and ate them fast as well as drank the water fast. "Damn girl slow down." He said, i finished it and cleared my throat.

"Sorry, I just haven't eaten and drank water for days now. I'm Y/N." I said and held my hand out and he grabbed it and kissed it. I rolled my eyes and put my hand back. "So where am I?" I asked as I got out of the bed. "Your in Woodbury. You'll fit right in. There's clothes on the side of the bed. There's also a shower, that you should definitely take." He said and I got the clothes. We stayed there and I glared at him. "Get out." I said as I rolled my eyes. "Touché." He laughed as he left and I went to the shower. I took everything off and quickly got in, it felt wonderful. I got out and changed into a tank top and jeans.

I left the room and he was outside waiting. "Finally, don't you look tasty. Let's go." He said and I followed him. As we got out, what I saw felt like a dream. It was beautiful, looked so untouched. There was people outside, kids having fun. "Yeah had the same feeling when I got here." Merle said, "How they found you." "I was in the woods,bleeding out from my hand, they saved me and now I'm badass." He smirked and showed me his arm. I didn't realize that he had a missing hand, i was used to it since I've seen worse. "The governor wants to see you." He said, "Governor?" "He runs this place." He said as he walked into a house and I followed.

We entered and Merle knocked on the door, "She' awake." He said, "She can come in." A voice was heard. "Your coming?" "Cant." He said and I felt nervous. He pat my back, "You'll be okay pretty girl." I smiled and head inside and closed the door.

"Welcome to Woodbury...?" The guy said waiting for my name, "Y/N." I smiled. "Welcome Y/N, I am the Governor. When Merle came back with you, you looked like a walker. You were in bad shape, glad that you 10x better now. You can stay with us. We welcome you with open arms." He says, "Thank you, I really appreciate it. Is there anyways I can help?" "What are you good at?"  "I'm a nurse or was. I also have teaching experiences." "That's great! We do need more medics, your hired!" He joked and I slightly laughed. "Thank you." "No worries, Merle will give you a tour." I nod and left.

"Went well?" Merle asked, "I have a job now!" "Good. Let me give you a tour around." He said and through out the day, he showed me around. By times he would flirt with me and I would push him away but shockingly we got close. He wasn't all bad but he still was a dick. There would be times where he reminded me of Daryl, but I just shook away those thoughts.

It's been months now, and things have been going well, i had to two jobs, being a teacher and a nurse. Me and Merle we're friends now and with the guards. I didn't really talk to the governor a lot, but Merle went on a mission with the guys and it's been days. It was night and Merle finally returned with 2 people but I couldn't really see who. I went back into my house and slept. It was morning and I went to teach the kids, the whole morning. I heard that there were two new people, who were female.

Through the distance, I saw Merle talking to someone but I couldn't see who since he was outside and the person was inside the building. I ran up to Merle and he notice me and went towards me. "Hey pretty girl." "Your back!" I said and I side hugged him. He hugged back and the person came out and it wasn't just one but two.

I let go and saw who it was, "A-Andrea..." I said in disbelief. "Y/N!" She said and ran to me. I ran towards her and we both hugged. I felt tears forming, "I s-saw you go down! I thought.." I said as I cried and she rubbed my back. "I know..I- I thought you were with the rest." She whispered. "No..they left, I stayed to protect Carol but there were to many walkers so I told her to run.I then heard her scream, I went to check but she was gone." "She's alright, she's probably with the others.." She let go.

"This is Michonne, she saved me. I've stayed with her the whole time. Michonne this is my close friend, Y/N." She said and I held my hand out. "It's nice to meet you Michonne, thank you for being there for Andrea." I smiled, she was hesitant but shook it and slightly smiled. "Good to meet you too."

"Isn't this cute. But the governor is waiting for them both." Merle said and I sighed. "I'll catch you guys later, it's nice seeing you again." I hugged her again and left to the medical center and helped out. The day went by fast and it was now night time, i couldn't see Michonne and Andrea anywhere so I waited until the next day.
