Chapter 26.

26. Traveling.

It's been weeks, since we been traveling. Everyone was drained, even more since of Ty's death, when I found out I was heartbroken, I felt worse for Sasha since that was her brother. He was a great friend and didn't deserve it.

 I walked next to Carol and Daryl told Rick that he was gonna go search for food and water. "We'll go with you." Carol says as she grabbed my hand and we walked behind Daryl. He didn't agree with us going but was to drained to fight back. Ever since the incident, Daryl has shut down, he wouldn't communicate with me as before and it felt like drifted. The three of us went to search for food and Carol mentioned Beth. She talked to him and handed him Beth's knife, she then turned to me and handed me a bracelet.

I grabbed it and it read, "Second sister." I started to tear up but smiled, I wore it and thanked Carol. "She was grateful for you. For both of you." She said as she looked at both of us. "You two need to talk..alone." She said as she softly smiled and then left. There was tension between us, and we both stayed quiet, I sat down in the dirt. "M' sorry." He whispered, i didnt look up at him.

"I..I was focused on myself. I ignored you..and didn't even ask how you were feelin..." He continued. I played with my bracelet, "I really miss you..." he said as he crouched infront of me and placed a strand of my hair behind my ear which showed him my face. I was crying, and he pulled me towards him. I cried in his chest, "I-I really needed you...I needed my boyfriend...Ty and B-Beth deaths. It hurts Daryl..I n-needed you.." I cried and he rubbed my back. "I know...I'm sorry. So sorry." He whispered. "I promise, I won't leave you...I love you.." He shyly said as he wiped my tears. "I love you too..." I smiled and we kissed. We both got up and I held his hand, "When did you become a romantic.." I teased tiredly, "Carol might of taught me things...she was mad at me." He said and I smiled.

We were walking back to others when we saw that there were to many walkers and we went to help them out. Turns out there plan went bad because of Sasha.We we're all now sitting down and Carol was happy that me and Daryl were on good terms now. We talked for a while when we heard growls, and dogs came out, which were infected. We were about to attack when Sasha shot them, we all just looked at the dogs.

Me and Carol were cooking the meat and passed them to the group. "Reminds me when we were at the prison." I said and she smiled, "Yeah. Go and eat, I'm almost done with this one." She said and handed me a piece. We all ate and we're back on foot, Daryl then came up to me. "I'll be back okay?" He said, and I knew he wanted to be alone. "Don't take to long.." I softly smiled and he nod and left. "Want some?" Glenn asked as he handed me a water bottle. "Thanks.." I said as I grabbed it and drank a little. "You can have it." "For the rest." I said. We then stopped and Daryl came back. Eugene then grabbed a water bottle and Abraham smacked it from him. We then heard rumbling and rain started to drip. The group was smiling and I softly smiled. I then saw Daryl expression and I held his hand, he looked at me and his eyes soften.

Then Rick told us to fill place the water bottles down for water and then there was thunder. Daryl mention that there was a barn and we made our way towards it. The guys checked first and it was safe to stay in, and we camped there. We made a small fire and some went to sleep while we stayed up. I lay my head against Daryl shoulder and we all talked, Rick shared us a story. Time has gone by and most of us were asleep while Daryl was on watch. I woke up and saw Sasha, Daryl and Maggie holding up the door and ran towards them to help. The rest woke up and we all went to hold up the door all night.

I then felt arms around me and I slowly opened my eyes. "Daryl..?" I mumbled, "Shh...go to sleep." He said as he kissed my head and held me tighter. I closed my eyes and slowly went back to sleep, safe in his arms.

We woke up after a while and then everyone started to wake up. Maggie and Sasha both went out together and Daryl told us we didn't have to worry. I was playing with Judith when Maggie and Sasha came in with a man. I carried Judith and everyone pulled out their weapons, Daryl quickly went to check outside and the man who is named Aaron. She told us that she met him outside and took his weapons and gear.
