34 - Happy Cakes

Build's POV

"Get out"

"Hey!! What time is it?!"

"6 am"

"It's too early. It's saturday, Biu! Ouch...my head...what do we have for breakfast?!"

"Nothing..."

"What do you mean 'nothing'?"

"I forgot to go to the grocery store...there's maybe an egg...and water."

"Seriously?!?!"

"Aren't you hungover?"

"But I'm starving..."

"Okei...hmn...I'm going to buy some food. Wait here"

"Sure...I'm going back to sleep."

...

I take my skateboard. Before taking the elevator I decide to apologize to my neighbor.

I knock a couple of times, but there's no answer.

It's pretty early. Maybe he's still sleeping.

...

I got veggies, eggs, juice...a few other foods to cook throughout the week...until the cart was full.

When I enter one of the hallways, there's a little crowd of people.

"What's going on?" I ask in very simple Vietnamese.

"Some publicity event...a competition. The best cake wins that product basket." A lady in the crowd answers me.

I get curious. MC announces that he is going to choose two people to compete against each other. 

Ladies raise their hands asking to be chosen.

"YOU!" He says.

"..." I look sideways...looking for the chosen lady.

"It's YOU, my boy!!Right there!" He points to me.

"M...Me?!"

"You!! I need someone that looks like never made a cake before!"

Now I realized that they are products for decorating cakes.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I have to rush home...I..."

Man, it's too early in the morning to make a cake, isn't it?!"

"Come on, boy!!Don't be shy!"

MC insisted and the ladies around me encouraged me to go to the small improvised stage.

"...Hmm...okay..."

I felt embarrassed to refuse again. I eventually gave in and went behind the counter where a cake and various ingredients, fruits and edible decorations were displayed.

The product basket looks interesting and the event sounds fun.

MC put a microphone in front of me and asked a few questions about me. "You have such a beautiful smile, my boy!" He asked If I was a model.

I didn't give details about myself.

With difficulty I spoke where I was from.

Audience has very kind, praising me.

 I felt a lively environment around me.
