16 - Good-bye Haibara-kun part 2

At the end of the day you arrived back to jujutsu high, as you went trough the hallways you looked very tired. Those special grade curses were a big deal for sure.

"Hm Satoru won't come back today either, he said his mission needed more time."you said to yourself. You felt like your going crazy, you had a bad feeling in your chest and you were worried about Suguru too. If only you could talk to Satoru right now, or even Shoko but she was busy at the lab. You decided to go on the terrace and look at the stars.

You sat down and you left your hair free from the ponytail you had. You closed your eyes and sighted.

"Rough day?" Yaga sensei said as he sat next to you.

"Yaga-sensei? What are you doing here?"you said and he just looked at the forest that surrounded jujutsu high.

"You forgot to write a report about the mission, that led me to think that something wasn't right, since your my student i want to be here for you whenever you need it."he said and you smiled.

"Thank you...it's just that everyone is left on a mission and I felt rather lonely, i just have this bad feeling but i don't know why."you said and he nodded.

"Jujutsu world is as unforeseeable as it can be, it's normal to have these worries from time to time, but you don't have to worry, they can defeat curses without problems. You have to trust them more."he said and you looked at the sky.

"I trust them of course, but i don't trust curses... I will be fine too, tomorrow both Satoru and the boys will come back and everything will be normal again."you said and he smiled.

"Indeed, now you should rest y/n, you have some missions tomorrow too and you need the rest.'he said as he got up to leave.

"Okay i will,thank you Yaga-sensei."you said and he smiled.

"Anytime"

As you went to sleep you tried to fall asleep as much as you could but...you couldn't sleep. You wanted to be in Satoru's arms, to feel safe and not alone.

As you thought about him you smiled, soon you will be reunited again...just 1 more day.

Today felt even worse than yesterday, you started your missions since morning and you were currently fighting a first grade curse.

"Damn how annoying you can be..."you said as you dodged an attack.

"Blood manipulation: piercing blood!"you said as you quickly attacked the curse, in a swift move you cut his head down and he vanished in the air.

"Okay I'm done for now, I'll better return to Jujutsu-"you said as your phone started to ring.

"Oh. Hello? Suguru, can I help you?"you asked and his voice sounded very tired.

"Y/n you should come back to jujutsu, something happened."he said and you stopped.

"What happened?"you asked and he sighted.

"Haibara...hes- he's gone."he said. Those words rang trough your head like an echo. You dropped your phone and completely shattered it, no...you were sure you heard wrong, this couldn't happen, Haibara and Nanami were sent on a easy mission, there was no way they would encounter something bad.

Your body moved on its own as your brain started thinking about a lot of things. Your cheeks were wet from the tears but you couldn't feel anything, you just had to arrive at jujutsu right now.

As you activated your speed of light tehnique you got to the school in no time.

You quickly dashed trough the hallways till you arrived at the lab where Shoko used to do checkups and autopsy.

You slammed the door opened and looked at Suguru and Nanami. Nanami stood on a chair with half of his face covered in bandages while Suguru stood next to a body.

"Y/n-" suguru tried to say but you came closer to the body. You slowly lifted the cover to see Haibara's wounded face...he didn't have that sweet smile anymore but instead looked lifeless, and more serious than you ever saw him. Your vision became blurry as your eyes started to tear up. You backed down till you touched the wall and you slowly slid down to the ground.

"Haibara-kun....he- what even happened to him"you said trough sobs and Suguru quickly went next to you to try to comfort you.

"We we're attacked by way more curses than we thought, this was a mission for a first grade sorcerer..."Nanami said and you just buried your face in your hands even more.

"No...you promised me Haibara-kun, you promised me that we would do our best together...why did you have to leave!"you cried out as you couldn't even get up.

"Don't worry y/n, Satoru's handling it from here."Suguru said and Nanami frowned.

"Can't he just handle everything from now on..."he said and you cried even more.

Without realizing you started to feel dizzy.

"Y/n are you alright?"suguru said but as you wanted to raise your head you collapsed right into him. He quickly grabbed you and looked at you.

"Shoko! Y/n fell unconscious."he said and shoko quickly came.

"Ara Ara y/n, you still can't control your emotions... Bring her to the other room please, staying here will only make her condition worse."shoko said and Suguru quickly pulled you to the other room.

"Pfft this is so annoying, why are cursed such a pain."Satoru said as he finally stepped in jujutsu high. For 2 days he was away on missions constantly and then he gets a call that Haibara died and Nanami needs back up, he didn't have time for anything else. His mind kept thinking about y/n, he knew that Haibara and y/n were in the same year and that they friendship was a very strong one. He could only imagine her reaction upon learning the truth.

As he finally stepped in the lab he saw Suguru.

"Ah Suguru, have you seen y/n?"Satoru asked and Suguru looked at the ground.

"Actually yes, she's at the hospital wing right now still unconscious, when she heard about haibara she stressed so much and cried so much that she fainted."Suguru said and Satoru looked at him with big eyes.

"I'm going to her right now."Satoru said as he quickly stepped in the hospital wing, when he saw you laying on a bed he quickly took your hand.

"Y/n, darling please wake up."satoru said and you slowly started to open your eyes.

"S-satoru...?"you asked and he nodded.

"Yes it's me sweetheart, I'm here."he said and he got closer to her.

"Toru..."you said as you finally opened your eyes and tears started to stream down again.

"Shh it's alright angel, get it out but don't stress yourself too much, we did everything that we could."he said as he hugged you and pulled you in his lap.

"I can't believe that this happened to him, if only I would went with them..."you said and he looked sad.

"I know, I wish I would got there sooner as well, but things happen and we can't do anything about it, now please calm down."he said and kept comforting you.
