Scars

I woke up with the sun hitting my face

Bothered i snuggled deeper into my bed....bed....this doesn't feel like a bed

I opened my eyes slightly and saw a broad muscled chest pressed against my face

Looking up slowly i saw koas enchanting sleeping state

His chin was resting on my head and his arms were locked around my waist

I continued to stare at him noticing all the little details about him such as the birth marks on his arms and chest and the little freckles you could barely see if you didnt look close enough scattered around his nose

Then i heard his husky hot morning voice which almost sent me over the edge

"Staring now are we little dumpling?" I froze in his arms and slowly looked up to meet his piercing green eyes sort of twinkle at me

"I wasnt i was just figuring out how to get out of...this" i said looking downward at our tangled legs under the sheets and our bodies pressed together

He only smirked and kissed my forhead before letting me go and getting up from the bed

I immediately missed the warmth of his body but shoved the feeling aside

"How...did you sleep?" He asked with a worried look on his face

I only looked downwards embarrassed of last nights events

"Oh...im sorry about last night" i said quietly my face still void of emotion

"Shit. No no no dont ever apologize to me dumpling things happen sometimes and im not gonna judge you for that or make you feel bad about it. We all have a dark past...if you ever wanna talk about it im here" he said pulling my chin up to meet his eyes

My gaze softened as he looked at me warmly "you gave me quite the scare last night god" he said embracing me in a hug as if his life depended on it

"Come on lets get changed. Are you hungry?" He says walking to his closet and then turning around for my answer

"Yea.. a little bit" i said and at that moment my stomach growled again. How humiliating

He only chuckled and threw me a pair of basketball shorts and a hoodie

I gave him a quick thanks before walking to his bathroom and changing

I washed my face and grabbed my hair wetting it just a bit so it could be easier to style

I settled with side twin braids and my side bangs out framing my face

I was wearing koa's grey basketball shorts which i had to tie and his oversized hoodie which i was okay with it being baggy

I walked out as he was putting on a pair of jeans and passing his belt through the holes

I turned around immediately "i- sorry i need socks"

He laughed again...i seem to be embarrassing myself daily

"Dumpling turn around" i heard him whisper near my ear

I jumped and turned around fast

He was still half naked

He grabbed my hand and trailed it down his abs not saying nothing

I looked into his eyes and saw the look of lust in his eyes like dan had....but koa had it with love and care...but i still couldnt go there yet

So i backed away and turned my head to the side "you should p-put on a shirt" he was silent for a second and then laughed lightly before going back to his closet

He came back out a minute later with a pair of socks and a green shirt that hid those abs from me yet i could still see them flex when he moved

We headed downstairs and we both put on our shoes and then went outside to his car

"So where do you wanna eat dumpling?" He asked reaching over my seat and putting my seat belt on for me

"Umm at a cafe?" I said unsure if that was a good place

he gave me a wide smile "cafe if is"

I had felt funny inside and this only happened once when i had a field trip for 7th grade when i forged dans signature and turned it in too my teacher which meant i could go on the field trip to the zoo

I always loved animals from the moment i had memories of butterflies being my favourite animal

"Soo when do you start school?" Koa asks snapping me out of my thoughts

"Oh Axel said next week or something" i said shrugging

He nodded and the rest of the drive was silent until we arrived at a cute cafe with outdoor tables and gardens

"Come on dumpling" he said opening my side of the door

He clasped his hand with mine and we walked inside

Immediately smelling cupcakes,muffins and coffee my mouth watered

"I'll order for us. What do you want?" He said looking at th3 menu and then at me

"A blueberry and chocolate muffin and a macchiato please?"
I said fidgeting with my fingers

"Alright,go sit down i dont want your bruises to get worse" he said in a whisper but sadness in his eyes

I flinched at his words

'Shit he saw...he saw my bruises...did he see my scars? Shit shit' i hesitantly walked away and took a seat down by the window

He joined me in 7 minutes and took a seat across from me

"Here's one muffin with blueberries and chocolate chips and a large macchiato" he said passing me my food

"...thanks" i muttered. The muffin was bigger then expected i might only be able to eat half...stupid stomach

I looked over at koa and he ordered a crossiant and a mcmuffin with a iced coffee

We ate in silence until i finally broke it with the voices in my head telling me to ask

"When did you see them" i asked coldly

It doesn't matter who it is, my past scars are something i dont wanna show anyone

He was silent for a minute and finally looked up hesitantly

"When...when i was pinning you down i rubbed your...concealer off and saw the purple bruises running along your shoulder...i saw scars too" he said looking into my eyes

With a look of pity

"I dont need your pity" i said standing up immediately and grabbing my coffee because i needed that bitch to stay awake

I walked out of the cafe amd started walking down the street to call a taxi

Just as i was waving my hand for a taxi i felt Two arms pull me back and i hit a hard chest

I turned around and saw koa with tears in his eyes

I was confused "w-what happened?" I stuttered turning around to meet his eyes

"I...i have them too....scars....alot of them"
