Confession.

[SERAPHINA]
[John's house doorstep]

I was waiting for John in front of his house, I wondered why he isn't back yet but I thought he might be with busy with something so I sent him a message but he didn't see it.

After some time I heard footsteps so I looked to see if it is John or not and it was him.

"Hey John! Long time no see." I said with a smile as he looked surprised, However my smile changed into a look of worry as I saw his body, his clothes were torn and there was a lot of blood on his clothes his right hand seemed as if it was shattered.

"Oh my god! John what happened?" I said as I rushed at him. He was still shocked but after a few seconds he regained his composure.

"I'll... tell you everything, just let us get to my home first..." John said with a sad tone, it seemed as if he didn't want me to see him at this state, however I helped him open the house door and I followed him in.

He sat on a couch and I went to bring him a cup of water but I mistakenly drank most of it, I put the cold cup on the back of his head for him to get a reaction out of him. He trembled from the cold.

"Ohhh.. S-shit C-coldd.." John said, "Ugh, fuck! Hey can't you see I'm injured?" John said to me.

"Water?" I asked him as I handed him the cup. "You already drank most of it..." John said, giving me a deadpan look. John drank the rest of the water as I couldn't wait any longer. "Now, tell me what happened?" I asked him.

He was silent for a few moments as I almost thought he would never answer, but after some time, he decided to talk.

"Sera, would you ever hate me?" John said with a faint smile. "Um, I don't really get what you refer to but to answer your question it depends really, You are the closest friend I ever had, we spent two years with each other till now, so I don't think I can hate you..." I replied a bit embarrassed and a bit scared from what he might say.

"Yeah... well Seraphina I... have an ability..." John said. And my eyes widened as I tried to process what he just told me. "Uh? Are you joking John?" I asked him as he just looked me in the eyes as his eyes started to glow. I was shocked, why would John hide something like this for two years? What is his ability? How strong is he?

Various thoughts invaded my mind but my train of thoughts was cut off when John started to talk. "I'm tired of trying to hide it, I endured so much so I will no longer hide." John said as his sad look turned into a determined one.

"But why? Why would you hide this from me and everyone else? Why would you endure all that pain?" I asked still shocked and confused.

"I wasn't homeschooled, I was studying at a school in new Boston, the first few years of my life I had spent as a Cripple, as I didn't know I had an ability and my father was also a Cripple so I figured I would be too." John said as I motioned him to continue as he gave a sigh then continued.

"I got two friends, Adrion and Claire, we were friends as we all suffered the same pain of being bullied due to us being weak, Adrion was the strongest in the group so he did his best to protect us, However he couldn't protect us at all times as there were a lot of people stronger than him, I wasn't happy with my life as it was so unfair, why do I have to endure all this? Why I'm weak? These thoughts invaded my mind back then until Claire came to me one day..." John said

"She told me that she had a vision of me using an ability. Her ability is called clairovoyance, meaning she can see brief moments of someone's future, I didn't believe her at first but at one time, some bullies were attacking me and one of them was charging a beam at me, I was scared so I put my hands in front of me. And I felt something in my hand, my body did it on accident but that was my first time using my ability." John said.

"Which is? I'm really curious..." I said to him my curiosity overshadowed my shock.

"My ability is called Aura manipulation, I can manipulate my aura or parts of it to mirror someone else's aura hence I can copy abilities and use different abilities at the same time, Also I can increase the aura intensity to amplify a certain ability by 150 percent." John explained as I was shocked to see how powerful he is, with that kind of ability no one would dream of hurting him. So why?

"Still that doesn't explain why you were not using it the past two years?" I asked. "Because, when I got the power, I became obsessed, I used to train a lot to become more powerful I would fight a lot of people until I climbed the ranks and became the King, but I... wasn't a good King, I used to hurt a lot of people to satisfy my ego, as they didn't like me when I was a Cripple and they couldn't accept me when I was king, you may think that my action was justified but it wasn't I even hurt my friend Adrion, I used to beat him or use him as a training dummy... I was a horrible person, until one day Adrion came to me and told me that Claire knew long before I discovered my ability that I was going to become king, and she helped me just to gain my favour and to further herself and since her plan failed now she is gathering people to fight me. I didn't believe him and I had beaten him up, after some time I got a message from claire telling me to meet her at a certain place. I went there and I saw her with a lot of people.

I realized that what adrion said was true." John said as he took a deep breath.

"What happened after?" I asked. I was starting to think clearly as I recovered from the shock.

"I beat them all up of course, but I went too far and sent most of them to the hospital, Adrion called the authorities, I attacked him and when they arrived I was set to have readjustment classes. For three months I was watching what my hands had done to people and myself hurting myself over and over with one of their guy's ability which can make you relive your memories and this is why I promised myself not to use it again." John said and I felt very bad for him.

"John, I... don't know what to say but you need to know that this is not you, you are kind and caring, you doing this is just a response for the people who hurt you, I know that doesn't justify your hostility against your friends but what is done cannot be undone, you must move on, you can't just stop using your ability because of that." I said as I tried to comfort him

"As to why I'm telling you this, its because I'm done with that idea, I had seen enough of it. When you were gone, Arlo the current school king was the reason you got suspended, he influenced that girl Elaine to snitch on you, as he had suspicion of me being a high tier. He tried to befriend me and I fell for it. He ambushed me... so I  crushed him.. and that is why I'm gonna dethrone him infront of everyone." John said with a bit of anger in his brown eyes.

"But Seraphina are you okay after hearing all this?" John asked me.

"I mean, of course I am John, I can't hate you because you have an ability, but it will take some time for me to get used to that new situation." I told him with a smile.

"Thank you Sera..." he replied.
