Enlightenment I.

"Ugh! This idiot, WHERE THE HELL IS HE!" I thought to myself. I called him around 30 minutes ago and he hasn't returned yet. It's already midnight and I wonder what the fuck did they do in order to get so late. Father was watching tv and speaking with Arthur, telling him stories about me and Grey. So he is being distracted right now, but it won't be like this for long. My father was always sharp. He won't be fooled easily if Grey went past midnight. Grey was never late when he was with any of his friends. In fact, he hasn't been the one to make friends and go out with, but Dad rolled with it because he thinks Grey might have found someone to share his interests with or whatever. He'll be suspicious of us. 

After a while, the doorbell rang. "Thank GOD!" I thought as I quickly rushed to the door and opened it. Revealing Grey wearing a nice suit. I grab his tie and pull him close to me. "WERE THE FUCK WERE YOU?" I whisper in his ear. But before he could reply Dad notices us. "Oh, Look who's finally back." He says getting up and shaking hands with Grey. "It's nice to see you, Father." Grey says with a nervous smile. They go and sit down in the living room. I sigh as I close the door following them slowly. "So, Dad are you planning to stay here for a while?" Grey asks. "Well, I'm kinda busy so I'll leave tomorrow night After I visit William's son." Father says. "You want to meet John?" Grey asks and My dad just nods. 

"Is he as powerful as you kids?" Father asks. "No, He's weaker than us, But he is still very powerful. He's close to being a level 8." Grey responds. "Oh, That's pretty good. Living alone with William and without my... Sister, he was able to grow so strong by himself. Truly admirable. I guess he'll turn out to be as powerful as his mother one day." Father says smiling somewhat sadly but still not wanting to ruin our reunion. "So Grey who's your new friends?" Father asks looking at Grey. "Uh, some kids from my school," Grey replied. 

"Did you get a girlfriend?" Father asked with a silly grin. Grey's eyes widened, His face getting a bit red. "WHAT? NO DAD, I DIDN'T WHY WOULD I GET A GIRLFRIEN- you're teasing me aren't you?" He suddenly realizes that Father was teasing him. "Well, You are 18 now, You should get a girlfriend or you'll end up lonely all your life," Father said teasingly. We kept chatting like this until eventually we all went to sleep. Arthur and Grey sleeping in the living Room. I'm in my room. Father in Grey's sleeping room.

[ARLO]

I hear the annoying thumping and knocking noise keep getting higher and higher. Until it went down. Then I grab the kettle and pour in my cup as I make a nice cup of morning coffee. After I got dethroned by John. I started to feel how pointless all that I did was. No matter how strong I may be, I cannot do much if someone stronger than me appears. Which happened. 

I locked myself up in studying and focusing more on my academic life. Waiting for John to dethrone me. I'm somewhat angry about it But in the end? what can I really do? "I hope he won't Ruin everything like... Like Rei..." I think to myself smiling. I remember all of these memories of Rei being with us... Before he... died. I wonder why he threw away his life like that. The authorities are taking care of everything already. Why would he sacrifice his life for such a futile goal? I kept thinking, Why would someone as smart and strong as Him, Do such a stupid thing? I mean don't tell me a simple book like unOrdinary could make a sane person do dumb things. 

At the end of the day. It's just a book, It must have been a catalyst of some sort. Does that mean... that the authorities really abandon so many people? No... that must not be right. The authority's job is to keep everyone in check, The weak should know their place so they can be safe. But still... That's not what Rei thinks. I really want to talk to him and ask him. I want to know why would he do all this. I drink my coffee and start walking to school, Still having this thought running in my mind.

I enter the school's gate. Many kids surrounded me. Many of them looked at me with admiration, some with fear. But most of them look at me as if I'm some sort of an invincible god. I looked around me in every corner. Some kids were just talking, some were where running because they were too late for their classes. Then my eyes fell on a relatively short boy with blond hair being beaten by a purple-haired kid. I look at the scene thoroughly. The kid keeps apologizing, however, the boy just keeps stomping on some paper. I get closer to hear the conversation. "Please don't! I've been doing this all week." The blond kid says. "That's what you get for not doing my homework you dumb fucker." The purple-haired kid says. I look at the scene with utter confusion. I always thought that the weak were getting bullied because they didn't know their place. But... now this scene before me. Makes what Rei did more and more understandable. Protecting the low tiers was his goal. Not to make them think that they are better than others, the strong will always hunt the weak. Bully them for the slightest of stupid reasons just because they can. I grit my teeth walking towards the purple-haired boy with a look of utter annoyance. "May I ask what the hell is going on here?" I say towering over the purple-haired boy. His knees tremble as his eyes turn to see me.

"Uh... Mister Arlo. Uh, nothing this kid here didn't know his place so I was just teaching him a le-" He says before I grab his head and smash him against the wall. "I let him fall on the floor after he loses consciousness. Then I walk away but before I leave. "Hey, Kid Uh... what's your name?" I say looking back at the boy. Who was staring at me with pure amazement? I guess to him, I was a man with no fears. "Dylan, Sir! My name is Dylan." The blonde says looking at me. "I guess you know who I am since I'm King. Call me Arlo." I say as I walk away.
