Roxto and Nan didn't get home last night. It's usual for Nan because when she goes to the yard she doesn't come back for at least 12 hours but Roxto? He always comes home before sun up so Nan doesn't get too mad at him.
Out of worry I decided I better look for him so now I'm heading over to Tsireyas place because Aonung will know where he is.
As I approached their Mauri I could see Aonung and Tonowari sitting with their backs to the door way. They seemed concentrated so I walked up behind them, leaning over to see.
Oh my Eywa
Aonung was holding a knife and fruits as well as a cutting board and some leaves. Tonowari was trying to turn the fire on in the middle of the room but was failing, and Aonung was trying to cut the fruits but the knife was too blunt.
"Have neither of you cooked before?" I ask suddenly; making them whip their heads at the sound of another persons voice.
"No."
"Yes."
"No? Yes? Which one is it?" I ponder, leaning my head forward.
They both look at each other Aonung widening his eyes and Tonowari rolling his before turning back to me.
"No we haven't," Tonowari explains shamefully.
"Well I cook sometimes," Aonung mumbles.
"Where's Ronal and Tsireya?" I move, kneeling in front of them and taking the knife and cutting board with fruits on it from Aonung.
"Someone got injured and mum had to attend to them so brought Tsireya with her," Aonung shrugs as I look around for another knife.
"Do you have any other knife? This one is blunt," I ask pointing the knife around in search for another.
They both look around, checking where the other just looked.
"Ah her-,"
"Found it!" Aonung interrupts, snatching it from Tonowari and handing it to me.
"Thank you," I smile, placing the blunt knife down and checking the new one before I begin to cut. "What are we making?"
"Fruit salad," Aonung answers quickly.
"Why do you want the fire on then?"
"I don't know, Ronal and Tsireya always have it on," Tonowari answers, scratching the back of his head.
I laugh softly, coughing to the and cover it up as I place some chopped fruit on to a big, clean leaf.
"Do you have any empty half coconuts?"
"Uh yeah, over here," Aonung gets up to grab them. "How many?"
"Just 2," I answer finishing up cutting.
"What about you? Have you already eaten?" Tonowari asks, watching closely to what I'm doing.
"No, but I'm not hungry," I wave him off.
"You sure?" Aonung checks, stopping before siting down incase he has to get another coconut.
"No it's ok really, I only came here to ask if you've seen Roxto," I assure them, getting the coconuts from Aonung.
"I haven't seen him sorry, did he not come home last night?" Aonung apologises as he sits next to me.
"No but I'm sure he's fine," I smile, getting up to hand them their breakfast.
They both nod appreciatively, beginning to ear as I just stand there awkwardly. Well, more confused then awkward the chief and future chief of our clan can't make fruit salad?
