Ka'nus POV

It's been a few weeks since my father died. Roxto and I visit his grave every day now that he's been buried.

I don't really know how to feel about everything. He was my father but I only knew him for a week. It's not like he was a major part in my life or anything.

Word got out about him dying and now every time I step out of Aonung and my Mauri everyone's apologising and saying how I don't deserve this. I know they all mean well but it's annoying. No one deserves this.

I wish he could just come back, I wish everything could go back to how it was before the Sullys arrived. I love the Sullys but coincidentally when they arrived Eywa decided sadness was a good source of company for me.
Although, if everything went back to how it was I wouldn't be mated to Aonung.

Aonung has been so kind and patient with me since my father died. He's encouraged me to do stuff but hasn't pushed me and can tell when I just don't feel like doing anything. I'm so lucky to have him.

Sometimes I wonder how someone like me ended up with someone like him. He's so perfect and I'm so, not perfect.

"You okay?" Aonung whispers in my ear, wrapping his hand around my waist.

"Yea," I smile, nodding my head.

Aonungs kisses my forehead before going back to talking to Roxto and another one of his friends.

We were hanging out with all the teenagers of the clan. We were all on the beach with a giant fire keeping us warm. There was alcohol and dancing Navi as others played music on drums.

Lately whenever Aonung and I are out in public I stick to his side, practically hiding behind him until I see someone else I'd like to talk to.

It was loud but we were far from the village, on the other side of the island so that everyone could let loose without fear of being caught.  Originally, I didn't want to come but Roxto practically dragged me out of the house.

Roxtos been ok since our fathers death, he pushed through it and decided to have fun, we both know it's what dad would've wanted.

"Are you glad you came?!" Roxto yells over the loud music and chatting.

He's drunk

"It's not as bad as I thought," I chuckle at his state.

"I'm glad to see you having fun!" Roxto punches my shoulder lightly.

"Who said I was having fun?" I smirk.

Roxtos jaw drops as he rolls his eyes and throws his hands up in the air.

"Your impossible!" He grumbles as he walks away.

"You are not bored though?" Aonung squeezes my waist to get my attention.

"No," I shake my head, smiling.

"Ka'nu, Aonung!" Neteyam yells, walking up to us.

Aonungs grip on my waist tighten and I shoot him a glare. Neteyam is just a friend, he needs to realise that.

"Hey Neteyam," I smile.

"Hey, how you been?" he asks me kindly.

"Good," I shrug.

"That's good," Neteyam nods. "How long are you planning on staying tonight?"

"I don't know, probably till Ao wants to leave," I look over at Aonung.
