Ka'nu POV
Flashback

"Ouch," I whine, holding my knee.

I slipped over grazing my knee and now it really hurts, like really hurts.

I slowly stand up, and limp my way towards my Mauri so that Nan can help me. As I make my way through the entry I see her helping Roxto with an injury of his own.

Oh

I straighten up, covering my knee so that they don't know. I didn't want to burden Nan.

"Ka'nu, what's wrong?" Nan asks, not even looking at me.

"Nothing," I smile.

"That's surprising, your always doing something wrong," Nan chuckles and Roxto giggles with her.

I smile slightly before walking out of the Mauri, my smile dropping as soon as my backs to them.

End of Flashback

Why am I thinking about that? That was more than ten years ago. I need to stop thinking about such stupid things. I have more important stuff to do.

The water tickles at my waist as I prepare to mount the Skimwing in front of me. Tonowari and a few other Metkayinas held him down.

Why was I thinking of that one moment?

"You ready?" Tonowari asks.

"Yes," I smile, getting onto the Skimwing.

I make the Tsaheylu, pupils widening as I feel the Skimwing thoughts circle my brain.

You ok?

Fine.

The Skimwing seems tired, and I feel bad. I don't know why it feels tired but I'll try and get this done fast.

"Alright ready?" Tonowari asks again.

"Ready," I nod my head.

They all let go and the Skimwing sets off fast. It glides through the water as I position my self on its back, getting ready to rise off the surface of the water.

We got this

Yep.

"Please don't embarrass me, I know you can do this," I smile rubbing its head.

The Skimwing slowly rises off the water as it glides with its tail. It's a bit a wobbly at first but I set my thoughts straight and we go straight.

We're doing well

'That's surprising,' Talos old comment made its way into my mind.

"Stop it," I whisper under my breath to myself.

The Skimwing suddenly stops mid air and flys straight down into the water. I didn't have any grip and so I flew off straight away.

"Fuck!" I curse underwater.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"How'd it go?" Aonung asks.
"Horrible," I grumble, flopping onto our make shift bed.
