Thoughts tangled through my clouded mind like a warped storm. My father? My fucking father? There's absolutely no way. He'd be looking for Roxto anyway.

"Do you think it's your father?" Aonung whispers, looking up at me from the floor.

"It can't be, he'd want Roxto not me," I whisper back.

I sit up on Aonungs lap, still keeping my head low as I search through gaps in bushes to try and find them again.

I don't know what my father looks like, but Ronal and Tonowari do. But they were hiding me from him, why?

Is there something wrong with my Father? I must find out. I slowly get off Aonungs lap and began to crawl towards where I saw them go.

I get up on my legs, keeping them bent as I use my arms as well to move side ways. It was a fast way to move whilst staying low and Tuk taught it to me when we were playing together once.

"Wait up," Aonung whispers, copying my movements.

"Shh," I hush him.

We stay hidden, behind bushes and low to the ground. Taking careful steps so we don't draw any unwanted attention.

"Is this where she lives! All alone!?" Sxculan yells.

There they are

There in Aonung and my Mauri, standing in the opening as Sxculan and Ronal scream and yell at each other.

"She doesn't live alone! She lives with her mate!" Ronal yells back.

"She's mated!?" He screams.

"Hey!" Tonowari yells, warning Sxculan.

"That's what you wanted, wasn't it?!" Ronal yells.

"What?" Sxculan asks.

"You wanted her gone the minute she was born!" Ronal screams.

So it is my dad

"So that is my dad," I whisper to Aonung. "How lovely."

"Sorry," Aonung apologises as if it's his fault.

"It's not your fault," I whisper firmly.

"I didn't! Biāozi wanted her gone and I had no say!" He screams, tears in his eyes.

Biāozi was my mothers name

"Then why did you leave! You left her!" Tonowari yells this time.

"I had to! To- to protect them," Sxculan says softly.

"Protect them from what!?" Ronals says harshly with her thick accent.

"I haven't made many friends, I've made many enemies over the years, you both know that, I couldn't risk them or the clan paying the price for my mistakes," Sxculan explains.

"You were one of us, we let you in and you turned out to abandon your children," Tonowari scoffs.

"You know what would've happened if the sky people found out I had children. They would be dead and so would everyone in this clan!" Sxculan yells again

"You still shouldn't of left them, Roxto and Ka'nu grew up with no father or mother their whole lives, all they had was Talo, and she's rude," Ronal rolls her eyes.

"Yea I know Talo, she's the one who suggested I leave," Sxculan chuckles slightly before clearing his throat. "I know what I did wasn't smart, but I'm here now."

"I don't care, you need to leave," Ronal demands.

"No, not without my children!" Sxculan yells.

"Their no longer your children!" Tonowari yells. "Ka'nu is going to be the next Tshaik and Roxto is one of the greatest hunters I've ever seen, they don't need you."
