Aonungs POV

After I apologised to Lo'ak I knew I had to apologise to Ka'nu. She deserves an apology after I lied to her.

I didn't know who's house she would stay at but I knew Roxto would know so I figured I'll head to his Mauri.

Upon arriving at his Mauri I heard yelling from inside. I didn't want to eavesdrop but something caught my ears.

"One minute before you ruined everything! She died giving birth to something she didn't want!" Someone screams from inside.

Who is that?

It's not Roxto, their voice is too deep and it's not Ka'nu there voice is too rough. So who's voice it it?

"No, no I didn't," I recognised that voice.

Ka'nu

"Yes you did! She'd still be alive if you weren't born!" The other person screams.

Holy shit I recognise that voice, that's Roxto and Ka'nus grandmother, Talo. Old bitch who's never been kind to Ka'nu.

"What about my father?" Ka'nu asks.

"He fled, didn't what to take care of a child who killed his mate!" Talo yells hurtful words.

I couldn't leave Ka'nu in there all alone, but this is a family matter and Ka'nus pissed at me right now.

"Did you make it up?" Ka'nu asks.

"Make what up?" Nan yells.

"That Aonung and I are to mate? Ronal said my mother asked her, did she?!" Ka'nu yells.

"When your mother was informed she still had to give birth to you she wanted nothing to do with you, so she asked that you be mated with Ronals son," Talo explains.

"She wanted to get rid of me?" Ka'nu asks softly.

"Ronal only said yes because you killed her, your the reason for the arranged mate, your the reason my daughters dead!" Talo screams loudly.

Oh Ka'nu

I couldn't take it anymore, she was speaking so harshly to her own granddaughter. To my mate.

I storm in there, standing in front of Ka'nu so she wouldn't be yelled at anymore. Talo steps back slightly as she stares up at me.

"What are you doing here?" She asks calmly.

"Do not speak to my mate like that," I demand.

"Where you never taught eavesdropping is rude?" Talo fires back.

"It was hard when you were yelling so loud, yelling at your own granddaughter," I say firmly.

"She's not my granddaughter, never will be!" Talo scoffs, trying to look at Ka'nu but I just kept her behind my back.

"She is your granddaughter," I raise my voice slightly so that Talo will stop trying to look at Ka'nu.

"Respect your elders! You give up on respect just for her!" Talo repeats the saying I hear so often.

"Respect is earned, not given," I say calmly. "And the way your treating Ka'nu means you deserve no respect."
