"talk to me hunter, please." freddie said slowly, and my eyes darted all around us so i didn't have to contain eye contact with freddie. i knew that if i wanted to talk to anyone about this, it'd be freddie since he's been through it himself. but i didn't want to talk. i wanted to go to that stupid party and drink away my feelings. probably not the most healthy idea i've ever had, but if it'd stop me from feeling like this then i was willing to try anything."no. let's just go to the party. our friends are probably waiting." i said, shaking freddie's comforting hand off my shoulder and storming towards mickey's house.
"hunter please!" i heard freddie shout from behind me, but i didn't turn around. i kept walking, and walking and walking until i was at mickey's front door. just then, i turned around to quickly glance if freddie was following and he slowly was approaching the house too.i opened the door and merged into the large crowd.
"HUNTER!" i heard my friend cormac shout over the loud music.
"HEY MAN!" i shouted back, but he furrowed his eyes at me and i knew he didn't hear me.
"WHERE YOU BEEN? THIS PARTY IS EPIC!" cormac yelled loudly, and i nodded enthusiastically."SORRY I WAS CALLING MY DAD, WHERE CAN I GET A BEER IN THIS PLACE!" i had never been to mickey's house before, this was unexplored territory.
"OH! ITS—" and before cormac could respond, the front door opened once again and in came freddie. he gave me a look of uncertainty but thankfully didn't mention our previous conversation."FREDDIE!" cormac screamed excitedly, pulling the freddie mercury lookalike into a bear hug.
"HELLO MATE!" freddie yelled back with a big smile on his face. cormac then let us through the crowd and into what i assumed to be the kitchen.it was quieter in here, since there was solid doors separating this room to the living room which was where the party was mostly at. cormac helped himself into the fridge, taking out two more beers for freddie and i. we both took them and took a swig almost instantly.
i turned and pulled myself up to sit on the kitchen counter so i had a full view of the dark brown, beaten down kitchen. it was a small room with only one light conquering all the space in here. i glanced around, but then my heart dropped when i saw a familiar mop of dark red hair standing at the door opening it uneasily.
then, of course, lionel walked into the kitchen where freddie, cormac and i were all chilling out. behind the red head, was a short blonde girl following him. she was still wearing our school uniform but had unbuttoned her top two buttons to show some cleavage, and had the bottom of her shirt tied up at the front into a knot to show some skin. i cringed at the sight, she was definitely trying way to hard for lionel's attention. wait, why do i care?
"hello lads," lionel grinned at us all, and i felt freddie glancing at me worriedly in the corner of my eye. lionel walked past us all swiftly and took another beer out the fridge. then, he turned to the short girl who was previously following him.
"take this to alex, would you beth?" he said, handing the girl a freshly opened beer. she grabbed it with her newly done french tip nails and smiled at him admiringly.
"of course, lio." and with a swish of her hair, she walked away. i internally cursed, why was she trying so hard with him? and why was i so fucking bothered.lionel turned, looking at all of us individually before he settled his eyes firmly on me. clicking his tongue, he then turned back around and exited the room — slamming the door abruptly behind him.
"god that guy is weird." cormac said with an eyeroll before taking a swig of his drink.i don't know if that look was lionel's way of saying he wanted me to follow him, but i knew that's exactly what i wanted to do.
"just going to the toilet." i said, hopping off the counter and exiting the room.
"mate you don't know where the toilet is—" cormac called after me, but gave up when i had already closed the door behind me.my eyes scanned across the living room until i saw lionel glaring at me from the corner by the stairs. i stared back at him, unable to move. he gave me a small smirk before disappearing up the stairs. i gulped, following quickly behind him.
like i said, i had never been in mickey's house before so i had no idea what door led to what room. the first wooden door i opened led to a bathroom, so i sighed and moved on to the next.
multiple doors later, i found the boy i was looking for. lionel was sitting on the edge of a bed in a foreign room. i slowly walked in, and when i closed the door behind me he finally looked up to my brown orbs.
"who's room is this?" i asked, watching his every move as he stood up and slowly moved towards me.
he stopped directly in front of me, leaning down slightly so our faces were incredibly close. i couldn't help but get a sense of deja vu. "does it matter?" he mumbled before roughly connecting our lips in the next second.
