"What is it?" Shin Tsukinami's voice was cold and irritated as a small maid scurried inside. She clutched a silver tray, an envelope placed delicately on top. Her head was bowed, eyes forced to the floor as the first-blood took the envelope and read the title through his glasses. "It's for Carla, don't waste my time."
"The Lord said that you should open it," she squeaked, making the boy sneer. His hand grasped her face, squeezing the soft flesh tightly as he pulled her towards him. The maid staggered, dropping the tray as the leader's second bit into her bruised skin. She screamed, her red hair caught in the candle light as she desperately shoved against him. Shin was too strong... and he didn't stop. He was merciless, he drained her until she was empty, leaving her body on the floor for another maid to clean up. A lesson taught, he supposed. "You taste like shit," he grumbled, snatching the letter from the floor and tearing it open.
It was written beautifully, the letters loopy and cursive. It was addressed to both him and his brother. Shin's eyebrows furrowed as he read the letter. And then he read it again... and again.
"Athena?" It was barely a whisper. He'd assumed she were dead, murdered by that vampire scum. Why was she writing all of a sudden? She'd never written to them before. Why now? He bared his teeth, tearing the letter in two before grabbing a crumpled sheet of parchment and scribbling an anger-fueled response. "The bitch... she thinks she has a right to talk to me?" He removed his glasses after sending the letter with a click of his fingers and closed his remaining eye, grimacing as he did so.
Moonlight slipped through the cut of the thin curtains, highlighting his bare chest, catching on the many scars as he headed towards his untouched bed. Then, he glanced towards the door which had been cracked open. "What now?" He grunted, ignoring the younger maid who wandered in. She spotted her sister on the floor and stifled a scream, pressing her fingers to her thin lips. "Speak."
"M-Master," she gulped, "requires y-you."
"Clean this up." He disappeared on the spot.

A soft breeze blew open the pale drapes as gentle rain drops kissed the ground. The skies were a delicate grey, fluffy clouds soared up above, sobbing lightly upon the first Spring morning. Athena Sakamaki was already awake, sitting at her vanity, brushing through her long, auburn locks. Reiji Sakamaki, however, was still sleeping; his hair was a mess, his pale lips parted. Athena glimpsed at him through the mirror, her jaw clenching as her fingernails ran through her soft hair. She'd worn her silky dressing gown over her short nightdress and a pair of fluffy slippers, her rings tickled the top of her breasts whenever she moved.
Athena nearly yelped when a letter suddenly appeared before her. 'Athena Sakamaki' it was titled. Heart in her throat, she delicately opened the envelope with her thumb nail and pulled the short parchment out. She unfolded it with shaking hands, eyes trained on the awful letters scribbled upon it.
'Athena,
Leave us alone. We don't need you.
Shin'
Her lips parted, eyebrows furrowed as the tears welled in her eyes. She read the letter again, soaking in her brother's words. It'd been decades since they'd last met... She couldn't stop the tear that rolled down her soft cheek. Taking a deep breath, she tore the letter to shreds before discarding it into the rubbish bin. A low groan broke her from her sorrowful trance. "Reiji?"
He was sweating... unusual for a vampire, his eyebrows furrowed, teeth grit together. He kept squirming, as if he were in pain. Athena left her seat, walking to where he laid. Hesitant, she placed her hand on his forehead, brushing his hair back before-
