Soft moonlight danced on the surface of the beautiful island's beach as the delicate waves kissed the pale sand. Stars twinkled above in the clear, night sky, celebrating the union of man and woman: Reiji and Athena.
Their honeymoon resort had been beautiful, an open cabin leading to the gorgeous beach and fish-filled ocean as clear as can be. Their cabin was elegant and simple with pale couches and chairs and the most beautiful bed Athena had ever seen.
"Whatever are you up to, Mrs Tsukinami?" His voice was silky as he leaned against the doorframe, swirling the red contents in his wine glass. The man had been dressed in an unbuttoned white shirt, revealing his gleaming, scarred chest and a pair of long trousers.
Athena turned her head, her auburn curls tickling her bare back. She'd been dressed in a see-through, pink fabric with thin straps covering her breasts and ending in a low, flowing skirt. A smile graced her lips as she gestured to the canvas before her.
"Painting," she said, "we have such a beautiful view here, Mr Tsukinami." Her cheeks dusted pink as the man who took her family's name placed his glass down, letting his hands settle on her hips.
"Mine's more beautiful," he chuckled, pressing a kiss to the nape of her neck as he fully wrapped his arms around her waist. She melted in his embrace.
"Reiji?"
"Yes, My Love?"
"What's next?"
"Our happy end."
"End? We have an eternity before us."
"Well what do you want to do?" He spun her around to face him, smiling at her freckled face, "We've both completed and passed our studies. I am to be a doctor and you an artist."
"I want to travel the world," she whispered, "and I want a cat."
"A cat?"
"Named Ginger."
"I'm assuming he'll be orange, too?"
"Preferably." She pressed her lips to his, pulling away slowly. "What do you want to do?"
"I want to search for any remaining Founders and do my best to nurse them to health - to eradicate that horrid disease."
"And then what?"
"I want a family, a happy one."
"We can do that."
"I love you, Athena."
"I love you, Reiji."
[I'm not quite sure where to go now in all honesty; I'll update with more epilogue-type chapters but for now, this is the ending. Thank you all for your support. It has meant the world to me 💕 I also apologise for the slow updates, I've been writing an original story which I hope to publish soon! Have a wonderful day everyone, I love you all!]
