Sayori Sakamaki was a beautiful baby girl with tuffs of blonde hair and round, green eyes. She was wrapped in a pink bundle, secure in her mother's thin arms as the woman smiled down at the chubby newborn. "Isn't she beautiful?" She whispered to Ayato who nodded, his eyes brimming with hot tears as his daughter's fingers wrapped around his pinkie finger.
"She looks just like you," he whispered, leaning forward to press his lips against Yui's temple, "with my eyes."

It had been late June and the flowers were standing tall beneath the blistering sun. There wasn't a cloud to be seen and the breeze was gentle and soft. Athena had taken a stroll around the courtyard after Yui had gone into labour. She'd been escorted from the infirmary, only the princess' husband had been allowed access to the room. She'd left after Ruki appeared from around the corner.
Of course, the knight had followed her at a safe distance, his stormy eyes focused on the way her waves fell down her shoulders and the soft hug her gown wrapped around her waist. His smile was small as her hums reached his ears. They were alone in the courtyard, causing the Queen to turn on her heel and scowl at the man who followed her.

"Will you please leave me be?" She hissed, pointing an accusing finger at him.
"I've been stationed to you by the King himself. I can only be dismissed by him."
"Oh don't you act as if you care about this job!" She cried, throwing her hands up in frustration, "You just want to bother me."
"I care greatly for my Queen's safety."
"Is that why you let him strip me bare? Is that why you watched as his teeth sank into my skin?" Her words were laced with poison as she inched closer to the Mukami, digging her finger into his armoured chest.
"There was nothing I could have done," he said quietly, eyes slipping from hers to her hand.
"But you did do something," she snapped, "you just waited and waited and waited." She pulled her hand away, fingers clenched into fists as she stomped to the large tree in the centre of the courtyard, frowning at its wrinkles as she took a deep breath. "Do you know how many times his hands touched me?" She whispered, not bothering to turn her head as the knight slowly approached his queen. "How many times his tongue…" she gulped, "traced my skin?" She looked up at the thick branches, wincing as the sun peeked through the bright green leaves. "He tried…" she murmured, blinking aggresively, "time and time again to rape me, to make me his, to-" she sniffled, wiping her cheek with the back of her hand. "I was his slave. All you did was stand and watch. You only ever did anything when he wasn't around and I was safe. Why didn't you protect me all those other times?" She cleared her throat, "I believe it's foolish to reward you for saving me once when you stood by and watched the excessive torture I went through."
She turned her head when she heard metal clap against the cobble ground. Ruki had removed his helmet and he'd dropped to one knee, bowing his dark-haired head.
"What are you doing?" She said, furrowing her eyebrows, "Get up."
"I apologise profusely," he said, his voice raw, "I didn't protect you the way I should have until most of the damage was done. I take full responsibility for whatever punishment you wish to bestow upon me."
"Don't be an idiot," she murmured, "what's done is done. I just wish you'd stop trying to pursue me. I'm a married woman."
"Understood," Ruki nodded, "I respect your wishes, My Queen."

Kanato had been stalking the halls of the castle mid-day when he'd spotted the Queen and the half-blood in the courtyard. He perched himself upon the bannister preventing anyone from falling, leaning his back against the pillar as he focused on their conversation. It was difficult to hear, their voices lowered to avoid eavesdroppers such as Kanato himself. He huffed, glimpsing at the royally dressed Teddy in his arms. "Something weird is going on with that Mukami, Teddy." he said, "We must protect Sister." Teddy merely stared blankly at him and the purple-haired vampire gasped. "No, Teddy, we can't do that. We'd get into a lot of trouble." He glanced back at the pair, frowning at the bowing man. He couldn't see Athena properly, the leaves concealed her face. "I agree, Teddy," he said finally, meeting the button of the plushie with his maniacal eyes, "we must protect Sister."
