A/N: This is rushed and I'm so sorry. I've had writer's block 😭😭 Thank you for your support ❤️❤️❤️
"What are you doing here?" Reiji Sakamaki, the second son, snarled as his small eyes peeled open. Fuschia glowed menacingly down at the human scum that'd dared to awaken him from his pesky little nightmare. Yui squealed, pulling away with a loud gasp as she hung her head low.
"Ah, pardon me," she whispered, stepping away as he lounged in his plush armchair.
"I can't believe I was actually woken up by the smell of your blood." He spat, pushing himself out of the chair and dragging a hand through his dark hair. The day had shifted, the sun had been setting; school would be soon.
"I'm sorry," she whispered once more.
"It's far preferable to the nightmare I was having," he mumbled, looking out the large window, "So, can I help you?" He glanced down at her timid, improper state.
"I came because I heard you moaning," she said softly, causing his eyebrow to twitch.
"I have a wife, need I remind you?" He returned harshly, "Are you that much of a pervert that you had to barge in?"
"I'm sorry," she repeated, cheeks red.
"Please wait a moment," he sighed, "I will make tea."
Yui had taken to admiring his china that had been locked in a large cabinet, her eyes had been drawn to the pretty tulip one, it was closest to the door of the cabinet, the handle facing the opposite way to the others.
"Athena is incapable of keeping my things neat," Reiji sighed, catching sight of it as he poured himself a steaming cup of tea. Yui watched as he sat down, taking a long sip of it. She jumped as his eyes met hers through his glasses. "I have completely neglected to inform you of your own position."
"Sorry?"
"However, I did not imagine that it required an explanation." He sighed, placing his cup down upon a neatly sewed coaster, "Did you honestly believe that I would make tea for you?" A low chuckle left his chest. "Please stop being so conceited. It is very presumptuous... I will allow you to enjoy the aroma." Yui only nodded, turning her head to admire the room.
"So this must be your laboratory," she caught sight of his bed and frowned slightly, "there's no sign of Athena's belongings... do you not share a room?"
"You ask personal questions," he spat.
"Does anyone else use this room... like maybe Shuu?"
"Just hearing that name makes my ears feel unclean."
"Why do you hate him so much?"
Reiji scoffed as he sauntered towards the window, catching sight of the beautiful rose garden below. He spotted Athena and her sketchbook, sitting in the middle of the pathway as she drew. His jaw clenched, before he let out a sigh, "I will make an exception and share my tea with you."
The cup he'd given her was clearly cheap compared to the rest of his beloved china. It wasn't decorated, merely plain - not that she minded.
"Thank you very much," she said, sitting upon the couch gently. Reiji didn't meet her gaze, he merely stared out the window for a while as she took the first sip.
Immediately, her throat burned and her airways clogged, causing her to choke and carelessly drop the white china. It shattered upon the floor contents staining the rug as she fell forward, grasping her throat, attempting to breathe. She landed between the table and the couch, upon the shattered china cup, burning her skin in the process.
