"Are you nervous?" Athena asked as Yui hoisted up the front of her dress' sparkling halter neckline. The white sleeves covered ¾ of her pale arms, they were straight and loose, growing wider towards the end. Her back was bare, a large ribbon was wrapped around the waist, the bow large and sparkly as it twisted into her long, flowing skirts.
"Very," Yui said, smiling as Athena clasped the silver locket around the younger girl's throat. "I wish my father were here though." Athena's jaw clenched as she glanced at the white, shimmering heels standing to the side, "He hasn't replied to any of my letters," she said glumly, "I hope he's okay."
"I am sure he is," Athena smiled, "and I bet he's extremely happy for you." Yui's hand tightened around the bouquet of roses as she smiled, her glossy lips catching on the candlelight.
"It's been nearly two years," she said softly, pushing her worries aside, "still, I mustn't ruin my special day over a man who hasn't written me back."
"Exactly right," Athena cleared her throat, stepping away from the gorgeous bride, "you're getting married!"
It had been a few months since Reiji had been crowned king. Athena's coronation had taken place the day after his, celebrating their union and her life after awakening from the dead. Things had moved smoothly, Reiji and Athena had grown inseparable. Athena's first order as Queen had been to release Christa from her imprisonment, reuniting mother and son. Reiji had merely spent his time correcting his father's wrongs and apologising to his father's enemies.
It had been an eventful few months.

The organ's wails were loud as the chestnut doors swung open, revealing the bride and her maid of honour. Yui's arm was looped through Athena's, a royal smile glistened across her lips as the Queen walked the princess down the long, petal-smothered aisle. The ballroom had been disguised to look like that of a church, to honour Yui's past life - a successful move on Ayato's part. Yui's smile never even twitched as she inched closer towards her long-time fiancé.
"Hi," Yui breathed as Ayato took her small hand in his.
"Hey," he grinned, eyes twinkling as Yui stepped up the stairs to stand by his side. Reiji, who stood at the altar waiting to unite the couple, shared a brief glance with Athena who smiled joyously at him, standing to the side whilst holding Yui's pretty bouquet.
"Ladies and Gentlemen," Reiji's voice sounded out, echoing off the walls as he looked across the sea of civilians whom he ruled, "we are here today to celebrate the marriage of Prince Ayato and Princess Yui." The ceremony continued sweetly, Ayato and Yui shared timid smiles and the crowd watched the couple in awe as their vows were exchanged.
Athena couldn't help the pang in her chest as she looked at Ayato's shimmering green eyes. Her eyebrows furrowed as warm tears formed in her own eyes, happy for her brother-in-law and her best friend, sad for her and her husband.
Still, this was a wonderful new start.

"You look exquisite, my dear," Reiji's husky voice sounded in her ear as his lips brushed the shell of her ear. Athena looked up from her plate of mini quiches, a small smile on her pink lips as his gloved hand landed on the curve of her back.
"Thank you, My Love," she said, smirking at the red tint which spread across his ears as she placed her plate upon the clothed table.
"You suit blue," he said, clearing his throat, "may I have this dance?" She smiled as she slid her gloved hand into his, stomach flipping as he whisked her to the dance floor.
