Ryoutei Academy was a large and highly esteemed building. Snobs from all over the country attended the academy, seeking high grades for their guaranteed futures. The walls were the colour of champagne, statues littered the empty corridors, adding an almost eerie vibe. Athena squirmed with distaste as she silently followed her husband's brother to their first class: music. If there was anything that anyone knew about Athena Tsukinami, it was that she was tone deaf.

Shuu Sakamaki was silent as he strolled through the corridors, hands in his pockets and his eyes glued shut. His blonde hair was a mess, his shirt buttons undone - he was truly unpresentable. Athena kept her mouth shut. "Why are you following me?" He finally asked, voice husky and low as if he really couldn't care. But if he didn't care, he wouldn't ask.

"We have music together," she said, "Reiji told me to follow you."

"I didn't take you for a good little wife," he retorted with a clenched jaw, causing Athena's eyebrows to shoot up to her hairline.

"Excuse me?"

"Down that hall, third door on your left." He pointed at a slim hall, the light was flickering and the locker doors cringed as they hung slightly open.

"And where are you going?" Shuu didn't reply, he just walked off in the opposite direction, listening to whatever was playing in his tiny earbuds.

The Tsukinami scoffed but there was nothing she could do as she trailed down the thin corridor.

An icy breeze circled around her legs, lifting her skirt ever so slightly. Goosebumps rose on her skin and her nostrils flared ever so slightly. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she sauntered past the first door. The windows were dark, it was difficult - even for a first blood - to see through it. And then the second door, a putrid stench filled her nose, making her gag at the metallic air around her. Finally, the third door.

She hesitated, everything in her body told her to run... but she stayed still, pressing her hand upon the burning handle and pressing down. The door cackled as it opened and the lights delayed for half a minute before flickering. She didn't see much for the first few flickers, but when the lights turned fully on... she couldn't suppress the scream.

Blood coated the tiled floors, pooling around the many desks and chairs. A body laid beneath one of the oak chairs, her eyes wide open, mouth agape and crimson staining her porcelain skin. And then, there was another body, a scream etched onto the memory of their face, her blonde hair had become a red, matted mess, her eyes dull and lifeless. There were hundreds of them, piled in the corner, brunettes, blondes, raveonettes, red-heads. Athena's hand flew to her mouth as the hot blood swallowed the soles of her shoes. "Oh..." she whispered, eyes flickering to the tall male who leaned over a young girl.

The young girl's eyes were wide, a silent plea begging to leave her taped lips. Her long hair was dishevelled, her own blood soaked her neck and her legs and even her hands.

The man - he was blonde and his eyes, when they met Athena's, glowered a bright green - stepped backwards, blood dribbled down his chin, dripping onto his white shirt. "What do you want?" His voice was gruff, fury burned off him as he glared at Athena, gripping the poor girl's hair.

"Let her go."

"Why should I do that?"

"She's a person - not food."

The man scoffed, shoving the girl's head down to the desk so hard that the light left her brown eyes. He stepped towards Athena, hand gripping her chin aggressively.

"That's where you're wrong, Love." His voice was a natural growl as he snarled at her. He let go of her chin, gesturing to the bodies that littered the ground. "See all of this? This is our food. This academy isn't your typical rich-kid hangout." He grasped Athena's neck, hauling her up to his eye level. She squeaked, gripping his hand tight, trying to pry him off her; he was too strong. "This academy is crawling with monsters like me. They don't feed us crappy human shit."
