"There's been an attack," one of Reiji's courtiers informed as the King was led into the long meeting hall. The table placed at the centre of the room was long and it seated fourteen. The King took his place at the head of the table, bowing his head to his advisors before sliding into his chair. His face was stoic and the crown heavy upon his head. His jaw clenched as his subjects seated themselves, Laito sat to his right side as the King's closest advisor, Reiji's right-hand man.

"Inform me," Reiji ordered.

"There have been recent attacks along the Founder's borders," Laito cleared his throat, "two villages have been destroyed, we've found no survivors as of yet."

"The King and Prince?" Reiji inquired, "Where are they?"

"Residing within our halls, Your Majesty." A dark-haired courtier bowed his head, his copper eyes catching on the light.

"Bring them here." Reiji sighed, waiting for the door to close behind them. "What else do we know?"

"It seems to be only one person causing these attacks," Laito said, "or a small group."

"Whoever it is has gone rogue," the dark haired man said, "there is no evidence hinting towards what race they belong to."

"There is no evidence supporting that they have gone rogue," Laito retorted, "this could be a mere sneak attack which we don't know of. For now it just seems like the First-Bloods are being targeted."

Reiji felt his stomach turn as realisation quickly sunk in. His eyebrows furrowed and his lips pressed together in a thin line as he scratched his chin. "The Queen and I were attacked the other day," he told his royal team, "the flames involved caused harm and will most certainly scar. Whoever it is has knowledge of our weaknesses."

"Our?" The talkative man asked, "I thought the Founders were the targets."

"We are in cahoots with the Founders," Laito reasoned, "it is very likely that we will be targeted next."

"Unless it's a Vampire attacking us." Shin hissed as he entered the large room. Reiji looked at two fidgeting advisors and pointed at them.

"You two are dismissed." He said, watching as they scurried off. "Carla, Shin, please be seated." Shin scoffed but did as the King instructed. "If a vampire has gone rogue, I assure you, we will execute them once they are found."

"I will hold you to that." Carla said rather icily.

"Can we go back to the attack on you and Queen Athena?" Laito asked with furrowed eyebrows, "Is she okay?"

"She's fine," Reiji replied, "she and Princess Yui are currently investigating the attack."

"With all due respect, Your Highness," the copper-eyed boy said, "are they to be trusted with such a task?"

"What is your name?" Reiji snapped, eyes narrowing at the handsome faced boy.

"Yoshito Hanamura," the advisor replied.

"Well, Hanamura, you will be pleased to know that I trust my wife and her Queensbreath with this task more than I would anyone else. They are more than capable."

"Apologies, Your Majesty."

"Have you heard anything from them since you left?" Laito asked.

"Not yet, I have yet to write to them about my arrival here. I doubt they have gotten far though, there is little to detect." Reiji took a deep breath, "For now, we should focus primarily on the attacks here."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

The school halls were daunting as Athena strolled through them, clutching her satchel close to her side. Hundreds of eyes watched her like a hawk as she made her way past several damaged lockers, heading towards the Chemistry Lab. Everything had grown awkward and tense without Reiji here. When the King was in the building, the Queen was ignored entirely. But without him here, there was no one to stop the onlookers. Athena hadn't noticed how threatening the King could be.
