Have sum Jally :] Also just realized I'm out of requests, I think. If you wanna ask for one or remind me of one I accidentally forgot, go right ahead.
When someone had guts, that usually meant that they had the balls to do something incredibly stupid that was also impressive. Wally had guts, every worker in the studio thought that. He was brave enough to sing and dance at the top of his lungs, making himself look like an idiot. Nobody else would do that. He was stupid enough to make fun of Sammy when the musician was already in a horrible mood. Nobody else was that stupid. And he had the guts to pick up spiders he found in the corners of the offices and throw them at passerby's. Most people were deathly afraid of spiders. That made him impressive, in a way.
Despite all these gutsy things Wally did all the time, there was only one thing he couldn't ever do, no matter how hard he tried, no matter how much he wanted to. Even he was too scared to do something like that. And that thing he wanted so badly to do, but was too terrified to do it, was to tell Jack Fain he was in love with him. Wally swore to himself that he'd sooner jump off a bridge and into the Thames before telling his best friend this information. At least he tried to. His attempts never ended up working out though, and he ended up either confusing Jack, or causing the poor lyricist to worry about him.
He had tried flirting, Jack just asked if he was okay, or needed to lie down for a bit. He attempted discretely singing a love song to Jack while cleaning up a mess in the lyrics department, but Jack seemed to think this was normal since he was always doing things like that, and ended up ignoring it. He was always hugging and poking and teasing, but Jack always assumed that was because they were best friends. Wally didn't know what else he could possibly do to tell Jack how he felt, without actually telling him. He wished the lyricist weren't so damned oblivious. He wished he weren't so spineless and could say something.
Wally sat at a bench in the break room when their lunch break started, waiting for Jack to show up. He had been thinking all morning about what he could do to let Jack know without telling him. It was quite difficult. He was so encased within his mind, he hadn't even noticed when the lyricist sat next to him. A hand waved in front of his face, and Wally's gaze snapped back into focus, eyes meeting with Jack's. "You alright, Walls?" Jack asked, smiling lightly.
"Yeah, just thinkin'," Wally said, smiling back.
"What about?" Jack held his mug of coffee to his mouth, taking a sip.
Wally hesitated for a few seconds, the grinned and said, "you."
Jack choked on his coffee, coughing as he tried to process what Wally meant. "W-Why?" He asked, trying to clear his throat.
"I like to think about you. I miss you when you're not around," Wally admitted, looking away and blushing. It was nothing compared to how red Jack's face had gotten. There. It was out. He said it. Did he regret it? He wasn't sure yet, Jack hadn't responded. Wally began getting even more nervous as seconds slipped by and Jack stayed frozen in place. It seemed the lyricist had no clue what to do. It wasn't his fault really, he just had no clue how to react to such words.
"I...um...t-thanks." Jack stared at Wally, the janitor staring back in slight confusion. Jack just realized how stupid what he said was. You do not say thanks when someone tells you they think about you and miss you. And he said it. He began to panic, and his face only became more red. "I-I mean..."
Wally smiled at him and patted his shoulder. "Sorry, that's weird ain't it?"
"N-No it's fine." Jack stared down at his lap, a small smile on his lips. A silent minute slowly passed, both scared to say anything.
"I really like you, Jack. In case it wasn't clear," Wally said quietly, fidgeting with his hands.
"I like you too. Even though you're weird sometimes," Jack pressed his shoulder into Wally's, the janitor leaning into him. Then Shawn started audibly awing across the room, and the moment was ruined.
