Henry was so sick of the same loops, over and over again. He kept trying different things each round, saying and doing things different but in the end it all worked out to be the same. Then it was back to the beginning once more. What if he changed something at the very end? Would it be different then? He knew he had to try.
At the end of the current loop, Henry, instead of putting the reel in himself, managed to get Bendy to chase him all the way over to the throne, where he ducked in between the beast demon's arms and forced the reel into his hands, placing it where it went by pushing onto Bendy's arms. Then, everything went white.
Henry woke, groaning to a splitting headache. He gazed around for a moment before excitement sparked in his gut. He wasn't in the hallway on the first floor. Instead, he was beside the ink machine on the first floor where he never went before because that was where Bendy had been boarded up each loop.
He stood and stretched, looking around for any sign of the demon. Was he always this tall? Henry wobbled forwards, finding it hard to balance for some reason as he stumbled clumsily towards the hallway to see if the door was unlocked. That's when he saw the unmistakable sign the loop was more fucked up than before.
He saw himself, awkwardly walking like he used to have longer legs through the hallways, arms outstretched wide on either side to keep balance. Was it a clone, perhaps? Whatever it was, Henry didn't care. It was a change and any change was so much better than the infinite loops.
Henry looked down at the floor to watch for any holes when he saw his feet and legs, and the swishing pointed tail coming from behind. Never mind, the old loop was better than this. Henry let out a scream and looked wide eyed at his hands. He was in Bendy's body, and that must mean...Bendy was in his.
Henry stumbled clumsily to find Bendy, hoping against everything he hadn't killed himself yet now that he was a weak and defenceless human. He spotted the confused other standing in an empty hall and staring blankly down at his hands. "What the fuck?" He heard Bendy mutter.
"Bendy!" Henry called. The human whipped around to look at him, almost falling over from the quick movement. "We switched bodies I think!" He explained, looking once more down at his hands.
"No way! I wonder if I can still use my ink portals..." Bendy muttered the last part, glancing at the wall. He suddenly ran into the wall, then fell over onto his back. "Ahk! Why is yer body so damn fragile?!" Bendy growled, standing up with some amount of difficulty. Henry couldn't suppress a giggle, only causing Bendy to become more annoyed.
"All humans are, so you'd better get used to it because I think the only way to turn back is to restart the loop the same way we broke it." Henry said, starting to walk clumsily down the hall as he was not used to the long bony legs of the ink demon. Bendy followed with some difficulty, taking steps that were too big for the shorter human legs. The two kept looking at each other as they walked, soon both were full on laughing at how silly they looked, causing them to fall down and on top of each other.
Henry stared down at Bendy, or rather his own face. "Ooh, so this is what it's like ta be a wee bottom." Bendy said, grinning up at Henry. The other blushed and gave a small half laugh half scoff, standing up again.
"Try taking smaller steps, the legs on my body aren't long enough for the large steps you're trying to take." Henry giggled, watching Bendy try and walk again.
"I am taking small steps!" Bendy wailed, waving his arms around like a windmill as he toppled to the ground again. The two eventually figured out how to move, and completed doing their tasks on the first floor. It took much slower than usual with all the laughing and teasing and trying to figure out how each other's bodies work.
They made it past the next place, Sammy avoiding them most likely because the ink demon was with the human. They avoided Alice altogether, and were soon making their way past the haunted house part of the loop. At this point, Bendy was on the verge of a physical and mental breakdown. "How do you even do this? I'm exhausted and sore, and I'm so easily hurt and weak!" Bendy sighed, collapsing to the floor. Henry crouched down beside him, patting him awkwardly on the shoulder.
"Well hey, it'll be over soon. Then you can go back to your own body and, I dunno, continue murdering me I guess." Henry shrugged. Bendy leaned against him, and Henry couldn't help thinking how weird it was comforting someone that was in his own body while he wasn't.
"I don't think I will. Maybe we can try an find a way out? I'm sorry I've been making yer life a livin' hell down here...I was just...I dunno, angry and sad. I missed ya a hellava lot when ya left, an I know it sure as hell don't seem like it." Bendy apologized.
"I know it's been hard bud, but I'm sure we'll find a way out eventually. There's got to be some way out." Henry said. They sat in silence for a small while, then kept going through the loop. Once they finally reached the end, Henry felt himself transforming into the beast form. Bendy and Henry re-enacted how they put in the reel last loop, and everything became a bright white. Henry was back in front of the entrance. He looked down and saw with relief he was in his own body again.
He ran over to where the ink machine was and met Bendy. Despite their success, the demon still looked sad. "Henry...do ya really think we'll ever find a way outta here?" He asked, his usual grin turned into a frown as he looked down at the human. Henry just shrugged.
"I'm sure we will eventually. If we keep trying different things, we'll find a way out. But for now, let's take advantage of what we have and keep trying, okay?" Henry said, looking up at the demon with a small smile. Bendy gave a weak smile back.
"Thanks Hen." Bendy grinned, leaning down and kissing the human on the cheek. Flustered, Henry looked away and smiled.
"We should probably start by trying to break the loop, huh?" He suggested, holding a hand out to the demon. Bendy nodded, taking his hand and they began their search for a new exit.
