All the messes people made around the studio, never once thinking to help the poor janitor by cleaning their workspace, they never even really payed attention to him.
Wally sighed, cleaning up in the art studio after work. Nobody listened to him when he asked them to keep clean.
Sure he had friends here that did care about him, but still, they never cleaned up after themselves, causing Wally to stay late at work.
He went home that night in low spirits. He wished that people would just listen, for once. Why did he even get the job of being janitor?
He woke the next morning and went to work. Of course Shawn had clumsily spilt his ink bottle again. Wally growled as he cleaned up the mess.
He started walking back to his closet to put the mop away. He suddenly heard a voice singing. It was lunch break, so the band was out, but then who was that?
Wally peered through the door of the music department. Jack Fain was sitting on a stool, singing the song he was writing lyrics to, to see if they sounded right.
Wally thought he had a beautiful voice. He listened to Jack for a while, then decided he should leave before Jack saw him and thought he was spying on him, which he was.
Wally leaned his mop against the closet wall, and closed the door, locking it with his keys. He walked to the break room to get lunch.
On the way, he heard Jack was still singing. Wally decided to embarrass him, since Jack never sang around others. And yes, many people have asked him to.
"JACK!" Wally shouted, sending Jack falling off his chair in surprise. "W-Wally! H-hi." Jack said, face turning red.
"I didn't know you could sing." Wally said, smirking in a teasing way. "I-I don't sing." Jack said, clearly embarrassed.
"Well then what were you doing?" Wally asked, leaning against the doorframe. Jack stared at his hands, still seated on the floor. "Y'know you have a nice voice, you shouldn't be shy about it." Wally said kindly.
Jack stood up. He mumbled something that Wally couldn't hear. "It's lunch time, you want to come have lunch with me?" Wally asked.
Jack nodded, his face turning a bit more red. They went to the break room and took a seat at one of the benches.
They mostly just talked about work. "I'm just tired of people not listening, or not cleaning up after themselves, and thank you so much for being the only person who actually listens!" Wally said.
"No problem, I agree though, Sammy can get quite messy when he's got to turn in a song in a few minutes and he doesn't have it finished." Jack chuckled.
After lunch, they went back to work. Jack was the most tidy out of all the workers. He was lost in thought and accidentally tipped over his ink bottle. It crashed onto the floor and went everywhere.
"No, no, no, no!" Jack whined.
The last thing he wanted was Wally to get mad at him. He had no choice though, Wally was the only one who could properly clean up glass that had shattered everywhere.
He sheepishly went over to Wally, who was just putting his broom back into his closet. "Hey Wally." Jack said.
Wally turned around. "Hi." He said. "Umm, I accidentally smashed my ink bottle, I'm really sorry." Jack said.
"Okay, it's fine, that's my job." Wally said. He grabbed his mop and broom, then headed to Jack's office.
'Oh no! Wally hates me now!' Jack thought. He wasn't the best judge of character.
Wally had it cleaned up in a few minutes. "All done." He said, turning to leave. He stopped, hearing Jack muttering to himself.
"Are you talking to yourself?" Wally asked. "Wha- no!" Jack said. "Then why are you whispering to nobody?" Wally said.
Jack said nothing, he was super easy to embarrass. "Are you okay?" Wally asked. "Do you hate me?" Jack suddenly blurts out.
Wally was taken aback. "What makes ya think that?" He said. "Well, you said that you hated it when people got messy and you had to clean up after them, and I just made a huge mess..." Jack whined.
He continuously rambled on and on about why he thought Wally hated him.
To shut Jack up, Wally leaned over and kissed him. Jack's eyes sprung wide open in surprise. Wally pulled away and stared at Jack.
Jack started back in complete shock. Wally just shrugged and left, at least it worked, Jack was now silent.
As Wally was outing his mop and broom away, he heard footsteps running up behind him. "Why did you do that?!" Jack asked.
"Just cuz." Wally said. "Because what?!" Jack said. "I've always known that you liked me, that's why." Wally smirked.
Jack's mouth hung open. "I do not!" He pouted. Wally locked his closet and turned around. "You're so cute when you're flustered!" Wally cooed, ruffling Jack's hair as he walked past him.
Jack watched Wally walking down the hallway. How did he know?
