(Third p.o.v)

On the other end, Sal rushed to the door since he saw it close with the three still in the room, making him bang his fist against it as a way to try and get it open.
"Max?! Sav?!" He called out to the two.
"Sal?" The two called out making Sal knock again.
"Max? Sal?"
Tess went back over to the safe and opened the door making Max and Sav move closer to her and see what was so important to keep hidden away in a hidden room.
"Woah." Tess spoke in shock.
The three stared in shock at the old machine that somewhat resembled how an old projector looked back in the day.
"Woah." Max and Sav repeated.
"Guys, stop fooling around! Open the door!" Sal told the three as he knocked on the wood.
The three worked together on moving it to the table in the room so they could get a better look at it and Sav took notice of the thin line of paper.
"It's an old machine." Max pointed out.
"You're kidding me." Tess spoke to her brother with a sarcastic tone.
"We couldn't tell." Sav sarcastically added before Max's phone started to ring, making him see it was Sal and picked it up.
"Sal?"
"I can't open it." He admitted to Max.
"Push the door as hard as you can." Max told before Sav grabbed his hand to angle it down enough for her to speak to her best friend.
"Use those muscles that haven't come in yet." She told before moving the phone back to Max's ear.
"It won't work." He stated.
"Come on, man, you can do it. Just give it all your power, okay?"
"Okay." He told into the phone before backing up.
He took a deep breath before rushing forward and slammed himself against the door, only for nothing to happen other then him bouncing off and hitting the ground. Something the three inside the room heard.
"Oh my god he ran at the door." Sav pointed out knowing the boy she called her best friend all to well.
"You okay? Sal?" Max asked as Tess saw something and gently hit the two to get their attention before she went over to it.
"Check this out." Tess told the two as she stood in front of a large enough vent that could fit the three of them.
Max and Sav watched on to see Tess pull the cover off and stuck her head in.
"Whoa." She spoke before pulling her head out and looked over at the two. "It's a tunnel."
"Another... secret room. This is not a normal house." Max pointed out as they watched Tess climb in and then showed her head.
"You coming? Tim's waiting." She pointed out making Max think.
"I can hold your hand if you're scared." Sav quietly told Max making him give a small nod.
She offered her hand to him making him accept it and was glad Tess went on ahead as the two climbed in and crawled after her.
"I guess I'm your knight in blue sweater." She joked making him smile.
"Yeah guess you are." He agreed before they saw where Tess was resting and waiting.
"Maybe this is our way out." Tess suggested to the two before signalling them to follow her.

Funny enough, the space was big enough for the three to crawl side by side and Max was using his phone to light the way for them.
"All right. Just a little darkness. Nothing we can't handle." He muttered to himself before they came up to a turn.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you." Sav quietly told as she tried to not let the dust sticking to her hands as they crawled effect her.
As they continued to crawl, Tess coughed since the dust was not doing good as a substitute for clean air. Of course Max's phone started to die, making Max panic.
"No. No-no-no-no, come on."
"What?" The two girls questioned.
"Not now." He complained before it went completely out, leaving the three in the dark. "The battery died. I can't see a thing here."
"So like the other 2.28 million other people in the uk who suffer from loss of sight?" Sav asked making Max look towards where he hoped her face was.
"Seriously?"
"I'm trying to distract you with smarts." She told causing a blush to form on his face and he was thankful she couldn't see him at that moment due to the dark.
".... It actually worked somewhat. But that doesn't stop me from completely freaking out." He admitted and he felt her shrug from how close their shoulders were.
"Worth a shot."
"Oh, calm down. Just let your eyes adjust to the dark for a minute." Tess told to reassure Max.
"Adjust?"
"Yeah." The two girls spoke as one, but he was still slightly panicking.
"What?" He questioned before he felt the ground in front of them and couldn't work out why his hand wasn't meeting the ground. "Wait, why is there no floor here?"
"What do you mean, there's no fl...." Tess began to question before the three fell down it.
