The mystery of Saganash.

Hello Magpie.

We went back to Pica Pica and stood as one as he looked at something.
"We're back." Max told, making him look towards us. "And we found our magpie."
"So you won your little scavenger hunt." He told us with a small smile.
"That's not what I'm talking about." He told before showing his phone to him. "This is what I'm talking about."
He leaned close to look at what Max was snowing but just seemed confused at it. I took a look to see it was the picture Daniel sent us, making me lean closer to his ear.
"Look at the photo." I quietly told him, making him turn to look at it and see what he had done.
"Dude." Sal quietly muttered as he saw the mess up Max did.
"Sorry." He whispered back as he got the right photo and showed it to him again. "Wrong picture, this is what I'm talking about. Look familiar?"
We saw him get a look of realisation that we had figured out his identity and had proof of knowing it.
"Course it does. You even signed your own work. MGP, Magpie. Oh, don't even think about making a run for it. There's a cop outside." Max told as he pointed to said cop, making Magpie see the back of Daniel just chilling. "I wonder what kind of promotion they would give him for bringing in the notorious Magpie?"
"What do you want from me?" He asked us.
"To offer you a job." Sal informed him.
"A job? What kinda of job and who are you?"
"We're the Hunters." Max stated, making me nudge him. "And honorary Hunter for Sal."
"Ah hahaha!" He laughed as a big smile took over his face at this information.
"He's friends with your parents isn't he?" I quietly mumbled so only Sal and Max heard me.

Once Tess came back from telling Daniel we didn't need him anymore, Browning was telling us the story on how he met Kate and Eric.
"Listen, it was years ago that I broke into the Hunter museum to steal the egg. The forgery I made was so they wouldn't even know it was gone. They caught me red-handed, but they didn't turn me in. Instead, Eric made me a deal that changed my life. He said, if I would give up my life of crime, they'd let me keep my freedom. Why they even let me keep the egg." He explained as he showed us said egg near the end of the story.
"But why would they do that?" Anika asked.
"Yeah. It's worth a fortune." Sal added.
"Because that's not what Eric and Kate care about." I told, making Browning smile.
"She's right. Erik and Kate care more about people than they do fortunes. I guess they saw a talent in me that they didn't want me to throw away by rotting in jail."
"Well, that's pretty nice of them." Tess pointed out, before focusing on why we needed his help. "Now it's your chance to return the favour."
"Anything. What can I do?" He asked us.
"How good are you with diamonds?" Max asked, making him smile.

When we returned back to the Hunter house, we were shocked to see Daniel carrying Tess's annoying project partner, but it was more worrying that Simone and Tim were standing there.
"Whatever, just give me the jacket back, Daniel!" She told him before they turned to look at us. "And who is this? Another uncle?"
"No, he's a friend/handyman." Max and Sal told as one before trying to fix it, but making it seem worse.
"And what's this handyman friend here to do?" Simone asked.
"Fix the toilet/heating system." The two told making Tess push forward slightly.
"Uh, this old place, it needs so many repairs. If it wasn't for our good old handyman friend, Uh, it would all fall apart." Tess told them.
"And does this handyman friend have a name?" Tim asked before we heard someone else speak.
"Browning! You old sack of dirt!" Rhinus told as he squeezed past the two so the two could say hi.
"Rhinus, you smelly old goat!" Browning told back before they hugged. "You still guarding museums?"
"Well, not for the moment now, but I'm still keeping an eye in you, old thief." He told before they headed in and we all knew we were in hot waters.
"Just so I got this straight, why did he just call your uncle Casper, Rhinus?" Tim asked.
"It's his middle name?" I told but even I could tell I sounded unsure.
"And what did he mean by thief?" Simone added.
"Stole a lot of hearts back in the day?" I continued, still not sounding 100% on it.
"What's going on here?"
"Yeah, no more lies!" Tim added.
"I would also like to know what's going on." Another voice spoke making us all look to see an older lady standing there with a raised eyebrow and a stern look.
"Who's she?" Max asked.
"Hi grandma, you're home two weeks early. What are you also doing here? You don't usually come to the Hunter household." I told in shock, shocking the Hunters since none of them have ever seen her before.
"Had to come home. Your aunt millicent died. I also thought I would help bring some of your stuff home ahead of time so it was easier." She told making me nod.
"I'm so dead." I muttered.
"In!" Simone ordered, making us all head in.

"Savanna, why wouldn't you call me about this?" Grandma asked after we explained the whole thing.
"Worry's I suppose."
"Don't be upset at her. She was just trying to protect us." Max told to try and help.
"Who are you?"
"This is Max. New Hunter kid."
"Ok then. Max, I understand that. But it was risky, there isn't even an adult."
"I'm 18." Daniel argued.
"Almost." Simone quietly corrected to her.
"This is a mess." My grandma muttered.
"I'm sorry, but we didn't get your name." Tim told her, making her look to me and I slightly shook my head at her, hoping she would understand.
"You can call me Sapphire." She told them.
"Wow you weren't kidding about your great-grandfather liking gems." Max told in shock.
"You doubted me?" I asked him.
"No.... Maybe a little. Just the smallest amount." He told as he showed me it and I rolled my eyes at it.
"Are you dating him?" Grandma asked.
"No, but we really want them to." Nika told making me facepalm at that.
"Savanna?"
"Yes?" We told but our tone made it sound unsure.
"Since when?!" The Hunters asked.
"After the museum mix up with Daniel." We both told.
"I did not see that coming." Sal admitted since he was the one who did the less pushing to get us together.... Mostly cause I think he was actually unaware of our feelings.
"Ok I'm gonna circle back around that later dear. Right now, I really need to know what is happening with the Hunter kids. I in good faith can not leave them alone now that I am aware."
"Calls will be made." Tim told us, making us all share a worried look at what this means.
Max also took my hand in his and gave it a squeeze to try and reassure the both of us.
