(Sav p.o.v)

"Did you fix it?" Tess asked as me and Sal worked on the telegraph machine in the kitchen to get it working.
"It seems like a piece is missing." Sal informed his sister.
"Big time. We haven't been able to get it to turn on." I informed her through the text group chat.
"Sav's right. We can't get it working. I don't know why. We even retired the electromagnet." Sal stated as he put some pieces to the side and discovered Daniel put his smoothie down beside the machine. "Don't put that there! Are you insane?"
"Sorry." Daniel apologised before seeing Max walking in. "Hey, new Max, how'd it go?"
"Mixed. There's good and bad news." Max informed the five of us.
"Well, what's the good news?" Sal asked as him and I continued to work on the machine.
"Well, Erik and Kate don't have to go to meet with Clutterbeak anymore." Max told making us get excited.
"Great. Whoo! Nice job." Daniel told as he put his hand up for a high-five.
"There's still bad news." I informed them all with a simple text.
"Sav's right. What's the bad news?" Tess asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"She's coming here instead." Max admitted making us all panic, before Tess could calm them down.
"It'll be okay. We'll make her so happy when she gets here, she'll forget why she came." Tess told us.
"I don't think that will work. But I guess it's worth a try."
"Really Sav?" Tess questioned my self doubt, making me shrug in response.
"How do we do that?" Max asked making Tess move and revealed the box of baking treats to the others.
"By speaking her language. I hope the new Max knows how to bake." Tess told before shoving the box into his hands
"Brownies?" Sal questioned.
"I can help. I bake all the time when my gran is home. It's something the two of us like to do as a bonding experience."
"Another quiet day?" Max asked making me give a nod. "Yeah I could use all the help. Thanks Sav."

While Daniel, Tess and Anika made sure everything was perfect, me and Max were following the recipe and Sal was working on the machine.
"You need to fold."
"I am folding." He told as he tried to fold the batter together to mix everything together.
"Fold harder." I told with a smile as he playfully glared at me.
"Alright tough guy, why don't you show me?" He told as he slid the bowl over to me.
I put my phone off to the side and took control of the bowl and showed him how he was meant to be doing it.
"Ok, I'll admit. You are really skilled." He pointed out making me give a slight nod in agreement with it. "So you like doing this stuff with your gran?"
I gave a nod at that before I handed the bowl back to him so I could talk to him.
"She's done a lot for me and she wants me to have an actual childhood." I explained to him.
"She sounds lovely."
"You two may get along quite well. She's sometimes scary, but she's protective over her grandchild." I stated making him chuckle.
"Then I can not wait till we get to meet." He told me, making me smile at him.
'He's sweet.'
"Should be mixed enough now." I told him, making the two of us pour it into the tray and place it in the oven.
Which left us with some batter in the bowl left for us to enjoy.
"This is my favourite part about baking cakes or brownies." I told as we used a spoon to scoop some out.
"It's good." He told making me hum in agreement.
I saw a bit had stuck to the outside of the bowl from when we poured it and used my finger to scoop it up before putting it onto his nose. He looked at me in shock and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh you are going to get it, Sav." He told before the two of us were running around the island.
After a few circles around the kitchen, Max was able to catch me and blocked me against the counter before he put some batter onto my nose, making us match.
"There we go. We are even now." He quietly told as we looked at one another and realised how close we were to one another.
'He has nice eyes.'
We couldn't help but smile at each other and it seemed peaceful between us, before Sal made a noise at the table. Making us remember he was also in the room, so we pulled apart and just continued to enjoy the left over batter after we cleaned our noses off.
'My father is not going to be happy about this if he was to ever find out.'
